The next day, Hesper came to the nursery early in the morning, but after standing at the door for a long time, she still could not muster the courage to go in.

She was afraid that yesterday’s incident would be reenacted, with the baby rejecting her once again.

She was hesitating when a servant suddenly opened the door and walked outside. The servant was stunned by the sight of her for a moment before she said respectfully, “You’re here, Mrs. Duval. Sir has ordered that you may enter the nursery at any time you wish to see the baby.”

Hesper was rather surprised.

Why would Rickard be so kind?

He probably did it so I could humiliate myself!

Fortunately, when Hesper cautiously scooped the tiny babe into her arms, he did not show any unusual behavior. In fact, he even leaned his face closer to her chest.

Hesper almost cried with joy as she looked at his adorable mannerism. Her little baby finally wanted her again.
