11. Things aren't what they seem to be

"Hello, this is Anne. Are you okay Mr. Maxwell?" She couldn't connect what he was saying to her. I shouldn't have come back from where? Maybe he wasn't calling me. The phone disconnected, he had already hung up.

She wondered what might have happened to him but decided not to worry about it. She was packing their belonging to move out to the new apartment.

There was a picture in one of the small boxes she had hidden. This box contained her private and valuable items. Each item had a memory that she cherished. She took out the picture and looked at it for a long time. It was her mother. She wondered how it felt to have a mother and how it would have been if she was still around.
