CHAPTER 12: LITTLE BIRDIE

LILITH’S POV:

The very first useful information I’ve been able to get is written in the tiniest piece of paper, perfectly encrypted in case of interception.

The paper lies in the pocket of my jeans but I just need to find a way to get it outside and pass it via bird to the Riverstone pack.

The only problem now is Ivan standing right in my room, watching my every step.

“Don’t you have other things to handle besides hanging around me? You are the Beta of this pack.” I say, trying to instigate some sort of warrior pride in him.

He looks back at me dully.

“Don’t worry, love, I have someone handling most of it while I work here.”

“Aren’t you pissed off that your Alpha assigned you to be the guard of some defiant annoying girl?” I pry further, trying to get into his head.

He should be as annoyed as I am, being stuck together despite our obvious dislike of one another.

“Ah, so you do know that you’re annoying.” He quips back without even batting an eyelash.

“That’s not the point…” I snap now
