AN UNEXPECTED MARRIAGE (English Version)

PROLOGUE

"What?! I'm getting married to Liam?!" I couldn't believe it when I received a text message from the current president of Anderson Company, Mr. Enrico Anderson, Liam's grandfather.

I just met Mr. Anderson by accident when I bumped into him at the supermarket. I know who he is because I often see him in business magazines. I was looking for the dairy products section and didn't notice him, so I apologized profusely for my clumsiness. I thought he'd get angry, but instead, he just smiled at me. I was even more surprised when he asked for my number. And since I was in a hurry too, I just gave it to him.

And now, I don't know what I'm feeling. Is this a joke? Mr. Anderson wouldn't be playing a prank on me, would he? Kevin Liam Anderson is my childhood crush. As I grew into adulthood, my feelings for him only deepened. I think I might be in love with him. And if we're really getting married, this is a dream come true for me!

But what about him? I don't even know if he still remembers me. Does he love me? Probably not! We only met once when we were young. At a party attended by our parents. We spent the whole night together, and he kept smiling at me as if I was the most beautiful kid he'd ever met.

I still remember his words vividly, saying, 'I like you. I want to marry you someday.' Until now, I can feel the thrill and excitement whenever I recall that. I was about to reply to his message, but suddenly, my phone rang. My fingers were trembling as I answered it.

"Hello, Mr. Anderson?" I forced myself to calm down so I wouldn't stutter.

"Oh, hi Ms. Smith! I was just wondering, was I able to surprise you? You didn't respond." Actually, I was surprised by his sudden decision.

"Are you not being rash? I don't want to sound rude, but you want to marry your grandson to a stranger?" I'm starting to think that Mr. Anderson's old age might be affecting his judgment, and his decisions might be getting cloudy.

"Who told you that you're a stranger? And please, call me Lolo from now on. Besides, you'll be my granddaughter-in-law in just a week."

My eyes widened at what he said. One week and I'll be getting married?! Is he serious?!

"I now declare you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride," the judge announced after we exchanged our vows and placed the rings on each other's fingers.

I was expecting him to kiss me on the lips, but instead, his lips landed on my cheek. I know he didn't want this wedding. He was forced to marry me. If his grandfather hadn't threatened him, he wouldn't have married me. It hurts me to think about it. The wedding I dreamed would be happy didn't happen. We had a civil wedding. One week was too short for preparations, so we decided on a civil wedding instead. Only his grandfather and a few witnesses attended our wedding. None of my family members came, just as I had asked them not to.

I don't know what kind of life I'll have now that I'm married to a man who doesn't have any feelings for me. What have I gotten myself into?!
