The name echoed in her skull. “Lio” Cut short. Abrupt, But heavy. Too heavy, Like it wasn’t being spoken for the first time but being remembered, And remembering it hurt.

Nightwind trembled, Not from the weight of armies, Not from fire or quake But from awareness.

The citadel shuddered like a thing waking from anesthesia, Sera and Auren found her outside the throne room, eyes distant, crown humming against her back. “What happened?” Sera asked. “That… thing. Was it Kael again?”

Liora shook her head. “No. Worse.”

“Worse than a god?”

She looked at them both, skin pale, voice raw. “Worse than a lover who turned into one.”

Aria and Altheya gathered in the Flame Library, where the walls now bled ink from cracks in the stone. Books cried when touched. Sigils pulsed on their spines. “The third gate is not a place,” Aria said. “It’s a being.”

Altheya frowned. “Then where is it?”

Liora entered the chamber like a shadow carried by wind. “It’s in me.”

The room fell still.

  • ASHES OF THE LUNA QUEEN   Chapter 233 - Screamed above him

The courtyard was no longer stone and ruin. It was an arena of gods. Kael stood reborn in the heart of the wreckage, his chest glowing with the pulsing shard of Dominion. His flesh was healed, his body renewed, his once-torn muscles now sculpted with inhuman strength. His eyes burned with twin flames, and every breath he took carried the echo of a thousand voices. He lifted his hand, and the air warped around it, bending stone and shadow as though the world itself bent to his will.“Finally,” Kael whispered, though his voice was no longer his alone. It was layered, deep and guttural, filled with Dominion’s roar. “Finally, I am what I was meant to be.”Adrien staggered to his feet, chest heaving, blood running down his arms. Liora was still clutched against him, small and fragile, her tiny breaths hot against his torn shirt. His body screamed for rest, but there was none left in this night. He had no sword. No allies. No time. Only resolve.“Stay behind me, little one,” he whispered to

  • ASHES OF THE LUNA QUEEN   Chapter 232 - The fire in her

The earth itself groaned beneath the weight of her power. Adrien stood in the courtyard, sword in one hand, Liora clutched in the other, watching as Sera hovered above the ruins, her body wreathed in fire and storm.Light bled from the cracks in her skin, her scream echoing with a thousand voices that weren’t her own. He had seen her fight, had seen her bleed and rise again. But this, this wasn’t battle. This was obliteration. The Dominion had taken her.“Adrien…” Her voice split the air, half hers, half something far older. Her head tilted, and for an instant her gaze found him. The fire in her eyes flickered, and he saw it, her.His Sera. His Queen. The woman who had fought beside him, who had loved, who had carried the weight of betrayal and still stood tall. But the next breath, the Dominion roared through her, and her voice twisted. “All shall bend. All shall break.”Adrien’s knuckles whitened around the sword hilt. His chest heaved with the weight of choice. He could stop her no

  • ASHES OF THE LUNA QUEEN   Chapter 231 - Shockwaves

The world ended in light. It tore upward from the heart of the fortress in a column of fire and storm, splitting the night wide open. The explosion cracked the air like thunder, shockwaves rattling the bones of the earth. Shards of stone whistled through the dark like arrows, raining down in molten arcs.Adrien had just enough time to twist, shielding Liora with his body, when the force slammed into him. The blast hurled him across the courtyard like a ragdoll. His back struck the ground, the breath ripped from his lungs as his ribs screamed. He rolled, arms locked desperately around the child, shielding her from stone and fire as the world shattered around them. His ears rang. His vision blurred. But through the haze of dust and flame, he saw it. Sera. She emerged from the explosion like a goddess carved from ruin, her form wreathed in blinding light, every step cracking the ground beneath her.Her eyes burned with white fire, her body trembling with power that no mortal frame could

  • ASHES OF THE LUNA QUEEN   Chapter 230 - Queen Mother

The world was falling apart. Stone screamed as the chamber walls tore open, whole slabs shearing loose and plunging into the abyss below.Fire erupted from the fissures, lighting the ruins in an infernal glow. Above, the roof groaned like a dying beast, cracks spidering outward as dust rained down in choking clouds.Adrien’s lungs burned. His arms locked protectively around Liora as he staggered to his feet, his vision swimming from blood loss. She was limp against him, eyes half-lidded, fever-hot. Her small fingers clutched at his torn shirt as though she sensed everything crumbling around them. And at the center of the destruction, Sera. She stood rigid, her back arched unnaturally, her eyes blazing with white fire. Her hair whipped around her face in a storm of light and shadow. The Dominion writhed beneath her skin, each surge cracking her flesh like porcelain stretched to breaking. She was both radiant and terrifying. And her voice, the voice that wasn’t hers, still echoed.“Run.

  • ASHES OF THE LUNA QUEEN   Chapter 229 - The Dominion

The light was endless. It wasn’t warmth. It wasn’t fire. It was raw existence, unfiltered, stripped of mercy. Sera’s scream ripped through it, not of pain alone, but of defiance, as though she were carving her voice into eternity itself.Adrien shielded Liora, clutching her against his torn chest as the chamber shook itself apart. Stone rained down, flames licked through the cracks, and the roar of collapsing towers above thundered like the heartbeat of a dying world. And in the center of it all, Sera stood. Her body arched against the torrent, arms outstretched, veins lit from within by the Dominion’s white blaze. Her eyes were no longer eyes but searing suns. Her cloak tore into ribbons of shadow and light, each whipping like a serpent hungry for the air. The Dominion poured into her, against her, through her, an ocean trying to drown a single vessel. But she did not sink. She consumed. Adrien staggered to his knees, his body half-dead, blood dripping from his chin, but he could not

  • ASHES OF THE LUNA QUEEN   Chapter 228 - Dominion’s fire

The world detonated in light. Not the Dominion’s fire, this was something else. Colder. Older. A light that burned without heat, that scoured without flame. It erupted between Kael and Adrien in a pulse so violent that even Kael staggered, his blade screeching against the ground as he fought for balance.Adrien threw his arm around Liora, shielding her as rubble whipped into the air. His battered body howled in protest, but instinct drove him to protect her from the blast. Dust filled his lungs, grit seared his eyes. And then, silence. The chamber settled, half-collapsed, pillars leaning like broken teeth. The air was thick with ash and smoke. But in the heart of the ruin, where Kael’s killing strike should have landed, a figure stood.Adrien blinked, vision swimming. No. Not a figure, Her, Sera. The Queen. She rose from the wreckage as though the devastation itself had been her throne all along. Shadows and light curled at her feet, her cloak of fireless black unfurling behind her in
