CHAPTER 6
Aanya's POV:
When you don't have anyone else you would want your close friends with you. That's what Ryan and Charlotte were giving me, their presence and comfort.
The whole of last week I was spent resting and getting back to myself in the hospital. I visited my dad and Chester twice that week. They don't know what happened to me and they will never know it. No one will know it except Ryan and Charlotte.
Now I was back to work trying to forget everything. My phone rang and I took it out to see it was Ashley.
"Hey Aanya, what's up?" she asked as soon as I took the call.
"Hmm.. let me see. I see a grey and white ceiling. What's up there for you?"
"A brain, duh..."
"When did you become a murderer?"
"I am not now but I may become one in the future. So you still working? How is everything over there?"
"Well, yes I am still working and everything over here is.... okay I guess."
"Are you busy?"
"Erm... actually yes. Can I call you after getting home or tomorrow?"
She said a quick yes and ended the call. Ashley is 24 years old and I am 23 years old and going to be 24 in one month. I and Ashley have been best friends since high school. She has always been the best. Ashley is a lawyer now and has her own firm. She has a boyfriend, Praise, who is the finance manager of Phantom Techs. They have been together since high school and before I even meet Ashley. Ashley is beautiful with black eyes and black hair.
After the phone call, it was time to close the café, so I winded up everything and closed the shop and went home.
I cleaned the house, cooked dinner, watched Vampire diaries, and was lounging on the sofa while my phone got pinged indicating I got a message or an e-mail. It was an e-mail and I opened it. To say I was shocked would be an understatement, I was flabbergasted.
Dear Aanya,
Our company is pleased to inform you that we have re-decided our decision on giving the CEO's personal assistant position to you.
If you choose to accept, you will be taking on the lead of helping the CEO with the duties you are given personally. You will report to the Vice President, Mason Alexander. You are requested to be at the office on June 20 2022 after 10 am.
The starting salary will be £75,000, paid on a monthly basis. Plus, our company offers full medical coverage and flexible paid time off.
To accept this offer, please sign the attached document and return it to us when we meet. Hope to see you at the requested time and date.

Aanya's POV: I was wearing a black sleeveless top and black pants with a grey blazer on top of it. I had a belt securing my pants in its place. I wore my black and white trainers with them. Aanya's POV: I don't know if he is mental ill or not, but personally I think he is. And I also don't know how I survived these 3 long weeks. Mental and a workaholic person. No heart, only brains. His demands are ridiculous. Schedule:8:00 am - I need to be in the office 8:30 am - Mr Rodrigues is in his office 8:45 am - He needs a hot tea with 2 cubes of sugar. After that, I need to read out his entire agenda for the day to him. Then he will give me a ton load of paperwork to finish. 1 1:30 am - He needs another hot tea. 1:00 pm - Exactly at that time he needs his lunch on his table, hot. The shop he needs food from is next door but it is busy as hell, it takes one hour to get the food. 3:00 pm - He needs his coffee with 1 cube of sugar in it. Aanya's POV: "Do you want me to take action against him? " Ashley asked "Erm... yeah no thanks. I think I will manage on my own. And I am sure you don't want to cross paths with him. Aanya's POV: Some people are excited and giddy to be the centre of attention whereas there are some people who would rather have sharp objects thrown at your heart than be the centre of attention. Aanya's POV: The 2-and-a-half-hour plane was dreadful but peaceful. It was so quiet and I was glad I took a book so that I could read. After that day everything took a turn. When my father and brother knew it they were ecstatic because I found the ideal man to marry. I told Ashley the whole thing, even about the contract and divorce after 1 year. Arya my friend from India heard about it and she called me to ask I told her everything too. They are the only people I trust in this world right now. I slowly started planning the wedding trying to make it not that expensive but it can also show it is a dream wedding. Aanya's POV: We finally reached the hall, the reception hall. It was small with stage in the middle, an arc on top of where the bride and groom are supposed to sit for the pictures that are to be taken and tables around us for the guest to eat and enjoy, hopefully. I changed my dress into a peach strapless dress that reached my ankles it had a same colour cloak short covering my shoulder. The makeup artist re-touched my make lightly. Aanya's POV: We took the last picture with our family and friends and then we set off to my new home. Home?? Temporary home but still a home. It was a 45 min drive from the hall and now I am standing in front of a gigantic but homy mansion. ‘How can u call it homy when everything is black?’ ‘I don’t know but it has a homy feeling’ It was a nice two-story house but I have a feeling it is much bigger on the inside.
