Twenty Seven

"Bestie! Bestie!! Bestie!!!" Mrs. Allen yelled as she let herself into the small home of Mrs. Rogers and her daughter. She looked around, ignoring the untouched meal on the faded table in the living room. "Where are you, Grace?!" She yelled again.

Mrs. Rogers came out of the kitchen with a towel which she used in wiping the water off her hands. She has on an apron that was relatively still new. It was so because Isabella recently bought a new one.

"What are you going on about, B? Why are you screaming your lungs out?" She asked the blonde woman who simply snickered at her.

"If you didn't want me shouting, you should have just answered me when I called out to you the first time." Mrs. Allen rolled her eyes at her best friend.

"Fine, fine. You win. Just like always."

At those words, Mrs. Allen became sad.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Mrs. Rogers inquired from her.

"It seems I didn't win this time, bestie." Mrs. Allen said in a resigned tone.

"What exactly happened? Are you sick or something?" M
