The hand dragged me to his lap, his breath fanned my face, and involuntarily, I froze.

“Were you planning to run away?” He mouthed close to my ear, and I quickly denied it by shaking my head.

“No… No, I wasn't; I just wanted to lock the room door for you,” I said, anxiously playing with my fingers. He seemed to be convinced with that; he placed his head back on my chest and continued sulking.

Minutes passed by slowly, and every word he uttered came out painfully. At some point, I couldn't even help but sympathize with him. I don't know who he is, but he is definitely going through a lot.

His hand slowly went to his pocket, and he brought out something from it. I couldn't see what it was due to the darkness, but I could hear the jiggling sound of the charm in it.

“Here, have it. Give me your hand,” his voice came out drowsy, yet commanding.

I offered my hand to him, and surprisingly, he wrapped something like a bracelet around it. He has such excellent eyes in the darkness.
