I went back to the kitchen where Monica and Chris were busy tidying up after dinner. The clinking of dishes and the aroma of leftover food filled the air as I approached them. Monica looked up from the sink, her brows furrowed with concern.

"Is everything alright with Noah?" she asked, her voice laced with worry.

I nodded reassuringly, trying to ease their concerns. "Yeah, he's fine," I replied, mustering a smile.

"He said he's fine." Relief washed over both of their faces as they exchanged a glance. Chris let out a sigh, his shoulders visibly relaxing.

"Thank goodness," he murmured, turning his attention back to wiping down the countertops.

As we continued with our chores, I couldn't shake off the nagging feeling that there was still something Noah wasn't telling me. It lingered at the back of my mind like a persistent itch, refusing to be ignored but for now, I decided to push it aside and focus on the present. Noah would tell me in his own time, I reasoned with myself.
