Aria’s finger hovered over the gate button, but instead of pressing it, she stepped back from the panel. A sly smile curved her lips.

If Damian Cole thought she would bend that easily, he didn’t know her at all.

She went upstairs, turned on her speakers, and let a sultry R&B track pulse through the house. The bass vibrated against the walls, drowning out the night. Then, with calm precision, she grabbed her phone and ordered fast food two portions, deliberately.

When the delivery arrived forty minutes later, she watched the scene unfold on the security camera.

The driver looked confused as she leaned into the mic. “Hand it to the man outside the gate. He’ll take care of it.”

Damian’s jaw flexed as he took the bags. He glanced up at the camera, eyes narrowing, his expression unreadable. Then he gave a short, humorless laugh, shaking his head.

Her voice purred through the intercom. “Bring my food in for me.”

This time she hit the button. The gate slid open.

Damian walked in, slow and de

  • Addicted to the enemy   Shadows behind the spot lights

Damian adjusted his cufflinks as the developers filed out of his father’s office, leaving behind the heavy scent of tension. Cole Sr. snapped his notebook shut with a sound that felt final.“Damian, this contract isn’t just numbers. It’s five hundred million. It is tied directly to the Texas hospital. Someone sponsored the bill from an unknown source. Only Aria knows who, and I want that watched closely. I don’t want flops. Don’t make me regret involving you.”Damian’s jaw tightened. “You won’t.”His father’s gaze was sharp, merciless. “You’ve been distracted lately. Handle it. I want your full focus here.”Damian inclined his head but didn’t answer. He didn’t need reminding Aria already occupied too much of his thoughts, and no boardroom order could erase her.Meanwhile, at the hospital, Dr. Aria leaned against her office window, watching the city bathe in clear sunlight. The adrenaline from the morning hadn’t faded. Trending on medical blogs. Praises from the President. Recognition

  • Addicted to the enemy   The call that wouldn’t stop

Damian slid into his father’s glass-walled office, dropping his laptop bag on the conference table. He had barely powered it on when the heavy doors opened, and his father strode in, sharp as ever in his tailored navy suit.“Call the head of software,” Mr. Cole said immediately, not even sitting down. “And the lead developer. Both of them. I want them here in ten minutes. We’re having this meeting now.”“Yes, sir,” Damian replied, already dialing. His mind sharpened into business mode, but a part of him tugged elsewhere toward Aria.Meanwhile, Aria stirred awake around 1 p.m., sunlight flooding her room. She stretched, smiling faintly at how light her body felt. For the first time in weeks, she felt free, like the weight of the world had momentarily lifted. She slipped out of bed, headed for a quick shower, and let the cold water hit her skin. Minutes later, she was drying off, her mood vibrant, her steps quick. Then she spotted it on her phone. One missed call. Unknown number. Her fa

  • Addicted to the enemy   Morning fire

Aria stirred awake to the faint rustle of sheets, her body still humming with exhaustion. The taste of last night clung to her lips, sweet and sinful. She sat up slowly, the silk of Damian’s shirt slipping off her shoulder. Her eyes drifted across the room, replaying flashes of their reckless intimacy.“What did I just do?” she whispered to herself. Her fingers brushed her lips as if she could erase the memory, but instead the thought of Damian’s touch made her cheeks flush hotter.By the time she dragged herself out of bed, Damian was gone from the room. She slipped into an oversized top that barely reached her thighs, her hair messy, her bare legs brushing against the cool marble floor as she paced around the living room. Her mind spun. Is it normal to love him after Ethan? Or am I just drowning in something I can’t control? The door opened. Damian stepped in, balancing two brown bags and a tray of drinks. His eyes locked on her instantly. She froze, realizing what she must look lik

  • Addicted to the enemy   The fallout

The corridors buzzed like a hive when Aria walked out of the boardroom. Executives whispered in corners, some glancing at her with awe, others with thinly veiled contempt. But none dared to speak loudly not after the way she had silenced them.“Aria.”The voice came low, smooth, and too close. Damian. He was leaning against the wall just outside the boardroom, hands tucked casually in his pockets, but his eyes burned with questions. He looked every inch the predator who had just spotted his prey.“You’re reckless,” he murmured, gaze locked on hers. “Offering ten percent like it’s candy. Do you have any idea what you just did?”Aria tilted her head, her smile cool and precise. “Of course I do. Any problem with that?”“Just asking though,” he said, voice dropping into a darker register. Her lips curved faintly. She refused to give him the satisfaction of a longer exchange.Damian’s eyes lingered, the air thick between them, charged, dangerous. Then he leaned in just enough for only her

  • Addicted to the enemy   The ten percent gambit

Aria woke with a dull ache in her head, traces of the previous night clinging to her body like smoke. She pulled herself from bed and stood before the mirror. Her reflection stared back pale but determined. She smoothed her hair into a sleek ponytail, buttoned her silk blouse, and slid on her black tailored pants.“You’re Aria ,” she whispered firmly, tilting her chin. “The new biggest hot shot. Act like it.”By the time she walked into the hospital lobby, her heels clicked with flawless confidence. The staff whispered in corners, their gazes trailing her, though she didn’t falter.Damian noticed her immediately. He leaned against the glass railing like the building itself belonged to him, his dark suit sharp, his presence impossible to ignore. His eyes tracked her like a hawk. When she passed, his lips curved into a smirk.“You look like you’re about to take over the world,” he drawled. “Should I kneel?”Aria stopped only long enough to flick him a cool glance. “Save the theatrics, D
