Jovie's POV
"Wait...so my dad is my real dad...and you and him." I held my pounding head. "What the fuck is happening right now?"
"Let me explain, Jovie." Nala (Mom?!) said.
"I can't breathe!" I exclaimed.
Reno hugged me tightly before putting his hands on my face. "Hey baby, it's okay. You're okay. I mean you're like half an orphan, but you're okay."
I couldn't help but smile. How did he always know the right thing to say? "So will they write half a musical about me and my struggles? Give my character red hair."
"Little Half Orphan Jovie does have a nice ring to it." Reno smiled. "Now we're going to sit down and let her explain, okay?"
I nod
Reno's POVThree Year Earlier"It's your fault I'm not pregnant.""Excuse me? How's that?" I asked."It's clear you don't actually want a baby and my body and uterus can feel your disdain!" Darla cried."Are you sure you're not pregnant right now? You're acting like a lunatic!""You're right. Maybe I'm ovulating right now. Let's have sex Reno." She shoved me on the bed and started kissing me wildly."Darla." I mumbled. "Can we just take a moment here?""Okay what?" She asked impatiently."You're right...I'm not really interested in
Reno's POVThis isn't happening. There's no way this is real. I'm not being stared down by my wife and my girlfriend."So, Reno aren't you going to introduce us?" Darla asked."Darla...this is Jovie she's my…""Girlfriend." Jovie finished for me."Hm. You sure do move fast, don't you Reno darling? But it's my fault. Sorry it took me so long to get here!""What does that mean?" Jovie asked."Well, the plan of course. Get the diamond, sell it, pay off the debt and live happily ever after." Darla smiled.Jovie looked over at
Reno's POVOne Year EarlierI knew I wasn't a good husband. Two years in and I was thoroughly bored with my marriage and my life. The only exciting thing in my life was gambling and that was also ruining it. But I could handle this.I could get all my money back easily and pay off Vigo Ramsey. It would be simple and easy. One good gamble and I would be back in the game.My marriage on the other hand was something I had no idea how to fix at all. I was frustrated because everyone had been right. I never should have married Darla in the first place. We didn't love each other and we were miserable.Maybe divorce was something we should discuss? We're so young and
Reno's POV I couldn't describe the absolute joy in my heart when I heard Darla say it wasn't my baby. I wasn't going to be a father. I didn't have to go back to New York and co parent with a woman I barely even liked. Most of all I wasn't losing Jovie. "It's not mine." I breathed. Jovie smiled before kissing me hard. "It's not yours. But I am." I kissed her again, so hard I fell on top of her. I had no problem making love to her on this hard carpet. "Reno." Jovie whispered. "I'm adventurous, but I will not fuck you in the hall of a hotel next to an ice machine!" "Oh you're not the woman I fell in love with." I teased.
Jovie's POVI stared at him.I must have heard him wrong. There's no way. Absolutely no way he said he lost all of our money. The money we needed to get to LA.Even though I was absolutely dreading going to LA, I knew we had to get there. I knew the diamond had to be sold.Did Reno somehow forget that?"How could you?" I asked. "Reno, what the fuck? We needed that money!"My yelling seemed to sober him up a bit. "Jovie...I...I thought I could win.""Well you didn't. You lost!""Yeah that was true before I stepped foot in this casino." Reno mumbled."What the
Reno's POV I was relieved to see Jovie squirming until he brought her back up. “Now that’s something I missed.” Xavier grinned. “You don’t see angry at me.” Jovie pointed out. “Look where I’m living Jo. What do I need to be angry about?” “Well the whole...situation.” I was confused. Was this about what Jovie’s parents stole from him? “Water under the bridge baby. Especially since you're still as gorgeous as the day I stole your wallet.” Xavier smiled. “Well I hope you keep a tighter grip on your wallet and phone than you did that day.” Jovie smiled slightly. “Is that Hobbsey?” Xavier asked with a grin on his face. “Lookin good!” “Nice to see you, Xavier.” Hobbs grunted. “And you are?” He finally looked at me. “Reno. Jovie’s boyfriend.” I said firmly. His eyebrows raised. “Oh. I see. You have a type Jo. What happen
Jovie’s POVI was shocked when we entered the dining room to see the whole gang there. Dallas, Scotty, and Dewey.“Jo!” They chorused.I was buried in a hug from the three boys. I laughed happily. I really had missed them.“Alright enough!” I laughed.I surveyed the three guys in front of me. They hadn’t changed one bit.Dallas had a goofy grin on his tan face. The freckles decorated across his nose were more prominent than ever. His dark blue eyes were crinkled in joy and happiness. He was always such a positive force.Scotty flipped his long brown hair out of his face. His snake bite piercings gleamed in the light as he grinned. His large brown eyes looked me up and down, taking me in. It was like he forgot what I looked like and now he needed a full on reminder.Dewey was the tallest of the boys. Standing at six five he seemed like an intimidating dude, but he was a
Reno's POV “Fuck!” Jovie screamed as Tommy fell to the floor. “Oh fuck, fuck, fuck! Reno I fucking shot him!” “Um...he-he shot you first baby.” “Like a week and a half ago, I don’t think this counts as self defense!” “We gotta get out of here. People probably heard the shot, come on!” I pulled her arm. “Do I take the gun?” Jovie cried. “Definitely!” “Wait!” She said. “What baby?” I asked. “The donuts.” Right, of course. I quickly picked up the box and we hauled ass out of that alley. We hopped into Xavier’s car and I drove off quickly. “Holy fuck. I shot someone!” Jovie laughed. “I actually shot someone! I know I should feel bad, but I feel like kind of a badass!” “You were a badass.” I glanced at her. “Did you see yourself back there? Holding the gun and giving that ultimatum. That was so fucking hot, babe.” “Yeah? I
