Chapter 7: Chapter Seven: A Minor Plot

Gemma Bessemer seemed to not understand Mo Chen Xia's words, blinking her eyes in confusion. Her small, plump fingers gripped the edge of his shirt even tighter.

Mo Chen Xia stared at her with a wary look, as if he were guarding against some terrifying creature.

"Edmund, what is this? Its eyes seem a bit strange."

Gemma Bessemer pointed at a crystal ornament nearby, her eyes twinkling with mischief that was hard to miss.

The living room had only one camera, equipped with the latest technology, monitoring every corner of the room. It was cleverly hidden within the eye of a crystal crane.

The crystal ornament, cut into multiple facets, sparkled like a diamond, and its subtlety was usually overlooked by most people.

But Gemma Bessemer found it so easily, which made Mo Chen Xia scrutinize her more closely, pondering her background.

"Edmund, why aren't you talking?"

Gemma Bessemer approached him hesitantly, her voice soft and sweet, her delicate little hand grasping his pinky finger.

Mo Chen Xia froze, then widened his eyes, staring at her, his entire body stiffening as if struck by lightning.

"Edmund..."

Gemma Bessemer buried her face in his palm, rolling it back and forth, her light breaths brushing against his skin. Suddenly, Mo Chen Xia pulled his hand away as if struck by lightning.

"Let go! You, step back."

Gemma Bessemer, unable to withstand the sudden force, lost her balance and fell to the ground.

Even though the floor was covered with an expensive and comfortable Persian silk carpet, Gemma Bessemer still felt a sharp pain in her bottom.

Mo Chen Xia hadn't expected such a strong reaction from himself. He reached out to help her up but couldn't bring himself to do it.

Seeing that he wasn't going to help her, Gemma Bessemer pouted, and tears instantly welled up in her eyes.

"Sniff... Edmund is bullying An'an! An'an is in so much pain... I need a 'huhu'..."

Seeing Gemma Bessemer's teary, pitiful expression, Mo Chen Xia felt at a loss, his body stiff as iron.

And what on earth was a 'huhu'?

After a while, seeing that he still stood there like a statue, Gemma Bessemer felt a bit desperate.

In front of a garden villa, a flashy sapphire blue Mercedes-Benz stopped. A man in a casual suit got out, walked to the passenger side, and opened the door.

A pair of small legs landed, and Gemma Bessemer, wearing a pink lace princess dress, jumped out, curiously looking around.

The surroundings were tranquil, with only a few cafes and high-end restaurants. A few people were sitting by the windows, chatting softly.

Yue Xia half-hugged the girl into a nearby makeup room, instructing the others to take good care of her.
