Chapter 196

“Come on, honey, let's go home," he said softly and pulled her up by the arm.

"What are they saying now? Anything new?”

"The officers haven't given any hopeful response yet. Ross says they'll check the cameras around for any suspicious movement and he's making sure they find the janitor who's missing as well. He figured if we can't find Toby, we can find the janitor and see if it connects."

"And who's the janitor?”

"Some old guy named Theodore Collins. I'm sure they're running tabs on him right now, checking his address and everything. He says we'll get the report early tomorrow morning.”

Jane did not look too impressed and remained quiet while Caleb opened the back door of his car for her.

“I know this is a tough situation for you, Mrs Lockwood," Ross said as he came up behind them. "But I assure you that we will find your boy. I will personally hand him over to you. It's a promise.”
