Chapter 7: Chapter Seven: An Encounter with Qin Siyan

The man was dressed in a hand-tailored black suit, exuding an air of unparalleled elegance. Simply standing there, he was the most striking figure in the crowd. As he walked, many people turned to look, whispering and discussing with excitement.

Anastasia Hansom saw that refined and noble face, her mind blanking for a moment before she slightly raised an eyebrow.

What a coincidence?

Twice in one day.

This face, she knew very well.

After all, she faced a miniature version of it every day, so it was only natural that she was familiar with it.

Holding the thin strap around her neck, Anastasia Hansom thought, since you've come to me, don't blame me for what's about to happen.

"Excuse me, sir, could you please wait a moment?" Her exquisite face broke into a stunningly beautiful smile, tinged with apology.

Her voice was as clear as a spring, and she stepped forward to call out.

A chorus of gasps rose from the onlookers. The man was surrounded by an aura of coldness and authority, making him seem unapproachable. No one dared to approach him. Yet, this woman had the audacity to stop him. Didn't she know who he was?

Eugene Harper lifted his icy gaze, meeting Anastasia Hansom's clear and bright eyes.

He furrowed his brow slightly, his voice cold and low, "Is there something you need?"

Anastasia Hansom turned around, making a request that left the onlookers in shock.

"Sir, the strap on my neck has come loose, but I can't tie it properly while wearing this dress. Could you help me, please?"

From this angle, only her snow-white shoulders and the graceful curve of her back were visible.

To make it easier for the man to tie the strap, her long, wavy hair was swept to one side, revealing a delicate profile. A smile graced her fair, smooth face.

Anyone who saw this scene would find it enticing.

Eugene Harper felt a mix of irritation and coldness, and he was about to leave. But the bright smile Anastasia Hansom had given him earlier lingered in his mind, reminding him of his daughter at home.

She smiled just like Dominic.

Unfortunately, Dominic was a loner and rarely smiled.

In a daze, Eugene Harper reached out, his slender fingers taking hold of the strap in Anastasia Hansom's hand and tying it into a neat bow.

His fingertips brushed against her exposed skin, and despite her best efforts to stay composed, Anastasia Hansom couldn't help but shiver.

Suppressing her emotions, she turned around and gave Eugene Harper a sweet smile, saying, "Thank you so much, sir. I was worried you might tie it too tightly. After all, it's rare to find a man who can tie a bow these days."

Eugene Harper's face remained expressionless, his tone indifferent. "With a daughter at home, one learns to do such things."

He assumed Anastasia Hansom was trying to strike up a conversation with him, so he mentioned his daughter, hoping she would back off.

But after he said this, Anastasia Hansom's gaze softened instantly, her eyes filled with a gentle warmth that seemed to overflow.

"Then you must be a good father," Anastasia Hansom asked softly.

She hoped he was a good father, so her daughter wouldn't suffer too much.

After all, she didn't expect Camille Hansom to be kind to her daughter.

Eugene Harper found her expression odd, but before he could say anything, an anxious voice came from the hallway.

"Siyan, are you ready?"

It was Camille Hansom's voice.

The Han family had invited him to their dinner party, and since Camille Hansom was his daughter's mother, he couldn't leave her at home. He also needed a female companion, so he brought her along.

"Siyan, why is it taking so long?" Not hearing a response, Camille Hansom hurried over, lifting her dress hem in a panic.

When she saw Anastasia Hansom standing next to Eugene Harper, her smile froze, and her eyes blazed with anger.

She knew it! This cheap slut, Anastasia Hansom, had ill intentions! She was trying to seduce Eugene Harper!

Eugene Harper was her husband! How dare this daughter of a rapist even think about him!

"Siyan—Uncle Han is looking for you," Camille Hansom suppressed her jealousy, affectionately linking her arm through Eugene Harper's.

Eugene Harper glanced at her indifferently, his jaw tight, and gave a curt "Mm." His cold eyes conveyed a silent warning.

Feeling a chill down her spine, Camille Hansom immediately let go of his arm, realizing she had crossed a line. In front of Anastasia Hansom, she didn't want to show any weakness, so she discreetly distanced herself, clenching her hands tightly.

Over the years, Eugene Harper had never shown any interest in her, no matter how hard she tried to seduce him. He treated her with nothing but coldness, and sometimes, even thinly veiled disdain.

If not for their "daughter," she might have been thrown out of the Qin family long ago.

Taking a deep breath, Camille Hansom put on a meek and obedient face, "Siyan, you go ahead. I'll just use the restroom and meet you there."

Without another word, Eugene Harper turned and left.

But before he did, his gaze instinctively drifted back to the unfamiliar woman who bore a striking resemblance to his daughter, pausing briefly before moving on.
