Holy shit. Holy fucking shit.

I don’t know what the fuck I’ve been doing lately for so many good things to be happening to me all at once, but I’m infinitely grateful anyway. And I’m going to do everything in my power to not lose it again.

That’s why I climb the five steps that separated me from Anya and I wrap my arms around her waist to lift her up again and take her to my room.

“Jae!” she complains, but she hugs my shoulders anyway. As soon as I reach my room, I carefully sit her down on the bed and cup her face in my hands to kiss her head like I do with Tate. Obviously, I want to do much more than that, but I don’t want to push my luck right now, “Jae… I hope you know this doesn’t mean anything.”

“No, no, not at all,” I reply immediately, unable to stop smiling, “We’re just a fated couple who’s temporarily living together, raising a child, and expecting another. I don’t expect anything more than that.”
