Chapter 17 : CHLOE’S POV

As we stood trapped in the darkness of the warehouse, panic threatened to consume us. Detective Rodriguez's steady voice broke through the tension, his words a beacon of hope in the suffocating darkness.

"We need to stay calm," he urged, his voice firm but reassuring. "We'll find a way out of this, but we need to think clearly."

I nodded, trying to steady my racing heartbeat as I scanned the dimly lit space for any sign of a way out. But the walls seemed to close in around us, the silence of the warehouse oppressive and stifling.

Suddenly, a faint click echoed through the darkness, followed by the sound of footsteps approaching from behind. My heart leaped into my throat as I whirled around to face the source of the noise, my eyes widening in horror as Samantha emerged from the shadows, a malicious grin playing on her lips.

"Well, well, well," she taunted, her voice dripping with triumph. "Look who we have here. I must say, I'm impressed. I didn't think you had it in you to find me."
