The day before Henry Baker and I are supposed to marry, my mother sedates me. She makes my twin sister marry Henry instead. A few years later, the company Henry established turns into a thriving empire. My sister, Diana Halliwell, flourishes with him. While I was at the lowest point in my life, my childhood friend, Jorge Ward, proposed. It's only after marriage that I realize he's worthless. Diana and Henry attend various parties. They enjoy delicious food and wear expensive clothes. Meanwhile, I end up exhausted after having to cook and clean for my family. One night, Mom speaks softly to Jorge when she thinks I've fallen asleep. "I was worried she would find out the truth about what happened back then, but it seems she's too dumb to notice anything." Jorge laughs. "You're a genius, Erica. You laced Laura's water with sleeping pills so Diana could marry Henry on her behalf. I'm glad to see how happy Diana is now." Mom sighs. "I just feel bad for you. You've always liked Diana, yet you're forced to live with a wash-out like Laura…"

An Insane Sister Swap Chapter 8
Angela was genuinely in awe of all I had done. "That was amazing, Laura! What's your next move?"I headed to Diana's house and knocked on the door. The deep voice of a man came from inside the house. "Who is it?"Just listening to his voice caused me to tear up.The voice that I had been thinking about all day and all night still sounded familiar. The door opened, and I saw Henry looking almost the same as he did years ago.But I had changed too much. So much that he could no longer recognize me. "Who are you?"I started choking up. "It's me, Laura."…Three days later, I heard that Diana was forced to divorce Henry.Jorge was also forced to sign the divorce agreement with me.When Henry came to look for me, his eyes were as gentle as they were years ago. He asked me if I wanted to start life anew with him.I lowered my gaze and smiled from the bottom of my heart for the first time in years. "The past is already in the past. We should just live our own lives in peace from n

The next day, I sent Jorge an audio recording. It was a full recording of our confrontation from the day before, including their admission of drugging me unconscious before my wedding years ago.I explained, "If you don't want me to expose everything, then sign the divorce papers."Jorge begged me for forgiveness. "I was wrong, Laura! I really mean it! Please, don't divorce me!"I replied coldly, "You have three days. If you don't want to sign the papers, I'll send the recording to Henry."Jorge did not refuse the divorce out of love but because he couldn't survive without me.I had been looking after Mom and Jorge like a nanny for many years. They had both long lost the ability to live independently. It was as if they were overgrown infants. Moreover, the divorce agreement included a division of assets. Before I got pregnant, Jorge was basically a freeloader who lived off of me entirely. After I got pregnant, he immediately got a job so that he could avoid taking care of me.

Mom and Jorge's scheme was full of flaws.Diana had been living with Henry under my name and identity so as to keep him from noticing anything unusual. He probably did not even know about the existence of such a plan all these years. But if I were to go to Henry, all of their lies would fall like a house of cards. However, I never went to look for Henry.Diana was my younger twin sister. If she was happy, then I was delighted too.I always believed that we should treat each other with sincerity. Since Diana was my younger sister, it was only natural that I give in to her demands.I never could have imagined that it was all a carefully planned scam. To them, I was never even a person. At that point, I no longer had anything holding me back. After Mom and Jorge left, they headed straight for Diana's house.Henry was often away from the house due to work, so only Diana and her child were at home.Diana was visibly disgusted when she saw Mom and Jorge arrive. "Why are you here? J
An Insane Sister Swap Chapter 5
I used the money that I had saved up in secret to rent a small house in the suburbs, where I could recover while looking after Cecily. The days were tough, but I felt much happier than before.Unfortunately, the peaceful days did not last very long. One day, I received a call from Angela, her anxious voice blaring through the phone. "Laura! Your mother and Jorge discovered your address! They're coming for you!"How did they find out?Could they have been following me ever since I left the hospital? There was no time for me to think about the matter. I grabbed Cecily and prepared to leave the house immediately. However, as soon as I opened the door, I was met with the two faces that haunted my nightmares every night."You bitch! Where do you think you're going?" Mom asked.I held Cecily tightly in my arms and calmly replied, "You were the one that said you'd sever ties with me, Mom! I've stopped seeing you as you wished, so why are you disrupting my life now?""Just a few day
