Chapter 22

Jake moved out.

When I got home from work to an empty room, I was reminded that it was time for me to wake up from that bittersweet slumber.

After he left, I came to a few realizations.

Coming from a wealthy family background, Jake was great at taking care of someone. Aside from his backpack and cars, he did not seem to own other luxury items.

His mother had passed away, and he had a stepmother.

He and his father were not on good terms.

It was easy to get lost in your own thoughts once you started making your own connections.

I had thought of a few possibilities, but it all came to the same conclusion.

Jake Young was a child you sympathize for.

Perhaps all women were born with a sympathetic heart, or maybe it was just the way I was. However, every time I thought of him, the image of him standing in front of the door with his reddened eyes came to mind.

It was a gut-wrenching sight.
