23: Must Save The Beta

Upon reaching the pack hospital, Penelope laid off Quinlan on the horse when she hopped off it. She didn't know if he was dead or alive. His pulse had thud faintly when she grabbed his wrist to check it and now, she fought against the urge and hardened her heart to not repeat the act.

Because he might be truly dead. She didn't want to know until his body was checked up for proper confirmation.

It was cold outside with the gust of wind making her hair fly over her face. No doubt there was going to be a storm at any time and the pack house hospital seemed a bit dead with no litten lamps or open windows as a sign that the healers were up and active. They had been gone for a few hours.
