25: All About Him

Two days later…

"What would you do if the blindness stays?"

"I asked you to read to me, Eddard, not pop silly questions," Quinlan's tone was sharp and cutting, "just shut up if you're bored."

"My apologies," the butler cleared his throat.

Quinlan just stayed silent and reached for the glass of water at his side. Upon holding it, he decided against taking a drink from it.

Frustration was what he felt as the voice of Eddard reading fades.

It had been two days since his return to his castle and he could feel his bruises healing but he was still blind and useless. Couldn't do things by himself. Eddard had been to his aid, attending to him if need be, because he couldn't do things by himself. Aside from that, Penelope was ignoring him.

He didn't like to admit it but he sort of missed her presence. She was a better off company than Eddard who was a constant pain in the ass.

Quinlan could hear her laughter through the window. He was certain she was out in the gardens.
