Chapter 21
Miranda POV
After finishing an early supper, I went to my room. I needed some time alone away from everyone to process what the Moon Goddess had done. Giving me a wolf for a mate was rarely heard of. How could this even work? I had no idea. I was here to figure out who was trying to hurt Lily. I had picked up on a couple subtle things while out for our walk. I would share that information with them all early tomorrow morning. Rick had told me about the surprise ceremony for Lily in a couple days so we had to do things early tomorrow as Lily had some visitors who would be joining her later in the morning and then later again Kate would be here.

Miranda POV After an amazing night and slow start to our morning, Rick and I have joined Lily and Jared in the meeting room along with Alex. It was time to give them my preliminary thoughts on what I had learned so far. As everyone took their seats I started. “So, the first thing I realize is many people love Lily already in the Pack,” I say. Seeing Jared look at Lily pleased, he turns back to me. “There are a handful who are indifferent and some who had a connection to the other woman who was going to be Luna before Lily,” I say. Lily POV I was bursting with excitement as I watched the cars roll up. My brother is Alpha to the Golden Moon Pack, along with Kate who shares the title with him. For this reason, he always travels with warriors for protection. The Golden Moon Pack is among the second largest Packs in our region. I can see my mom waving to me from the car and as soon as the car stops, she jumps out of the car running up the stairs. She takes me in her arms, “Oh my baby girl, I have missed you,” she murmurs with tears in her eyes. “I’ve missed you too, mom,” I reply hugging her tightly. “How are you feeling?” she asks through her tears. “Mom, we can discuss all that in a bit,” I say as I see my dad impatiently waiting to give me a hug.

Lily POV Walking into our room, I look around feeling like something was disturbed. There is a faint scent I don’t recognize lingering, but I realize it could have been one of the staff. I still didn’t know everyone well enough as yet. Kate POV Seeing Lily in much better shape than I had seen her when she was still in the hospital was by far the best. I knew she was still experiencing headaches, but they were seemingly getting better. And she was still trying to piece things together about the attack on her. Jared POV Complete chaos. The gunshot rang out across the foyer of the Pack house. We heard screams from the event hall. Screams from around us. Jared POV We spent most of the night waiting for news on either Lily or Miranda. Alex and Colby came over to update us on the actions of the Alpha.
