Anastasia

The cold metal brushes against my skin as I slip the last dagger into the strap on my thigh. One by one, I secure each blade to my body like it belongs there. Wrist, ankle, back, boot. I know the weight of each one, how it’ll shift when I move, how deep it can go when I need it to. My fingers don’t hesitate. They just know what to do.

I stare at myself in the cracked mirror hanging in the corner of the tent. The glass is foggy, but my reflection still stares back clear enough. My face gives nothing away. No hint of nerves. No guilt. My chest doesn't feel tight, and my heart doesn’t ache thinking about the lives I’m about to take. There’s only this weird calm, like my body’s already moved past all the what-ifs and regrets.

Maybe that’s just what happens when you’ve carried revenge long enough. It settles inside you like smoke in your lungs. You stop choking on it. You breathe through it.

I know the chapters have been shorter lately, and some of you might be thinking I’m dragging things and hating me for it, but that’s really not the case! My laptop broke down, and I’ve been writing and updating everything from my phone. Trust me, writing 2k words on a tiny screen isn’t easy! As soon as I get my laptop back, I’ll be back to regular updates. The story is also nearing its end, so thank you all for sticking with me till now... it means a lot! 💛

  • Blind Alpha And His Unwanted Mate   Chapter 98

AnastasiaMara walks a few steps behind me, quiet. Her boots drag a little like she’s tired, or maybe just done with everything. I don’t ask. I don’t say anything right away because I’m still trying to figure out how I feel.I don’t fully trust her. I don’t think I can. Not yet.Irwin told me she’s only going through with this so she can leave the base and be with him. But she hasn’t mentioned his name, not once. And I’ve kept it that way too.If she wants to talk about him, fine. But I’m not bringing it up unless I have to.It’s too risky.I don’t know where her loyalty actually lies. so I am not going to share anything with her.But still, I can’t just walk away from her. Because if she really needed my help and I have abandoned her then I won't be able to forgive myself.I see how she looks at all this, how she flinches when people talk about the fight like it’s a game. She doesn’t want this. That part I believe. So, I keep her close. Not because I trust her, but because I don’t. I

  • Blind Alpha And His Unwanted Mate   Chapter 97

AnastasiaI walk to my group, they’re all there, lined up just like they were told, but I can feel it... how tense they are. The nerves, the way their shoulders rise and fall a little too fast, how some of them can’t keep their hands from fidgeting with their belts or sleeves.I get it. I really do.Doesn’t matter if it’s your first battle or your hundredth, that weight in your chest never fully goes away. The mix of fear and fire. The not knowing what’s going to happen next. It wraps itself around your ribs and squeezes.I stop in front of them, and for a second, I don’t say anything. I just look at them. I might not now their names but I know who has a little brother waiting at home. Who hides their fear behind sarcasm. Who’s trying to act brave for the sake of the others. And it makes something shift inside me.“It’s true, we don’t know each other for long. Hardly a few hours, really. Barely enough time to even remember each other’s names.” I shrug. “You’re not just people I met to

  • Blind Alpha And His Unwanted Mate   Chapter 95

AnastasiaThe trees are quiet tonight, the lake just barely catching the shimmer of the moon as I make my way through the trail. Cool air brushes against my skin, and I welcome it. It’s been a long day, and a moment alone is overdue.I know he’s behind me.Isaac’s been trailing me for the last five minutes. He probably thinks he’s being sneaky, but his footsteps are too loud, too eager. The wolf blood in me made my senses sharper than those of normal humans, so I can easily hear and catch even faint sounds. However, I keep my pace calm, casual, pretending like I don’t notice a thing. That’s how you win with men like him, let them think they’ve got the upper hand.I’m just a few feet from the edge of the water when I stop, pretending to take in the view, when suddenly—"You’re playing a very dangerous game, Ana," Isaac says, voice sharp and low as he steps in front of me.I blink, acting like I didn’t expect him. “Isaac?” I lift my brows, putting on that perfect little act of fake sur

  • Blind Alpha And His Unwanted Mate   Chapter 94

AnastasiaThe smell of roasted meat and firewood hangs thick in the air as dinner gets served. I watch the others shuffle toward the long tables inside the main tent, the usual setup for high-ranking hunters. Pete’s already there, flanked by his favorites, the polished silverware clinking like some kind of performance.Pete's laughing at something one of the hunters says, like always, like nothing’s changed. His hands move easily, slicing meat, passing bread, playing the part. But his eyes, his eyes are doing something else entirely. He watches who talks to who, who looks away too quick, who hesitates before answering. Like the cracks he’s pretending don’t exist are starting to show, and he’s keeping track of every single one. Then his gaze finds me.It lingers. Just a beat longer than it should. Then comes the nod. Small. Barely there. But I see it.And so does Isaac. His jaw tightens. His hand curls around his fork. He’s doing a poor job of hiding the way it bothers him. A nod shou

  • Blind Alpha And His Unwanted Mate   Chapter 93

AnastasiaWhen I see, Isaac instructing the group of new recruits that I will lead, I walk to them. Isaac is one of the men of Pete's inner circle, the most trusted one... his second in command until now. He doesnt know it yet now I am going to lead these hunters and he has been removed from the position. He’s got that usual puffed-up stance, acting like he owns the place. "Isaac," I say, voice even, polite. "Can you please step aside? I need to inform you of something."He doesn’t even look at me at first. Keeps talking like I don’t exist. His voice rolls on, loud, trying to assert dominance or whatever. When he finally turns, it’s with this tight, annoyed frown."You need to wait, girl," he says, all clipped and full of venom. "I’m talking to my hunters."I tilt my head, crossing my arms. "Actually, you’re talking to my hunters."He snorts like he misheard me. “What?”"You were second in command," I say, keeping my gaze steady on him. “But not anymore. I’m leading from the front
