Kass’s POV

“Lady Kassandra,” Heinz falls in step beside me running. He does this every morning. He is the only one able to keep up with me and not die. I run full force and he keeps pace.

After our first spar a month ago Heinz has been training hard. He is also gentle with my kids. I get overwhelmed sometimes being outnumbered, but Heinz comforts cries, feeds bottles, and sings to them. He won’t change diapers but that is not a problem.

Eddie and I were a pretty good team when it came to the kids. I never considered how much I would miss the team work. Heinz isn’t as good as Eddie, but he’ll do in a pinch.

We take our stances and circle each other. We are both studying the other. His eyes attempt to lock on mine, but I keep my vision wide and clear.
