Chapter 2

Livvy's POV

"Shit! I'm going to be late for work, again! I'm going to get fired if I can't manage to wake up. These dreams about Timothy are getting out of control."

'Take a deep breath, we're fine, if we go now we can make it.'

I looked at myself in the mirror, my eyes looked hollow, the dark bags under them speak volumes to what is happening to my life.

“It's exhausting being someone I'm not.”

I slapped my cheeks to give them some colour.

I work two jobs right now, at the diner in the mornings, from six until three in the afternoon, then I got to my second job at a club as a bartender from eight in the evening until two in the morning.

So as you can imagine, sleep isn't exactly something that comes easy to me, except on Sundays, oh how I love my Sundays. That is the only day I have off of work, well that day and I don't work at the diner on Saturdays but I start work at five in the evenings at the club instead of eight. I don't work the club on Mondays either so I get that time to myself in the evenings too.

I make great tips so I can't complain about that, but I'm exhausted, plus I rarely get to let my wolf out for runs around here.

I live in a small town that I managed to come across a few years back, five to be exact. I ran from my home when I turned eighteen, found this town, got a job at the diner because the old man that ran the kitchen felt sorry for me when I was using change to try to buy some dinner for myself.

He's kept me on for five years now, yet he yells at me every day when I come in late. He threatens to fire me all the time but he still hasn't, not that I take advantage of that, I think of it as a blessing he doesn't.

One day he will, I just pray today won't be that day. I brushed my hair back into a tight bun before grabbing my apron along with my keys as I rushed out my little studio apartment. It isn't much but I love it.

I got this place about three years ago. It's an old firehouse that was transitioned into apartments. There are only two studio apartments within it. I have one and my neighbour holds the other. She's a sixty year old woman that lives alone, I help her out on my day off.

She fell ill many years ago causing her to have a lot of fears about going out into the world any longer.

I run errands for her as well as do her grocery shopping because she's unable to do these things herself but has no family so I'm all she has now.

I rushed down the building, making my way outside as I watched storm clouds rolling in, dark clouds, almost sinister. Running down the street I crossed over 29th to Abshier before rushing two blocks over to where the diner was, praying I'd make it before the rain hit.

Thunder cracked so loud it vibrates the windows around me as I hoofed it as fast as my feet would carry me. Reaching for the diner door right as I was slapped in the face with a giant raindrop.

"Oh thank the gods, I made it!"

"With three minutes to spare even!"

Trisha pointed out as she laughed at my expression when I looked up to see her behind the counter.

"Can't believe I'm not late, but thankfully I'm not."

"Just happy you made it on time so that I can leave. It was absolutely dead tonight, so with this storm coming in, I doubt it will be very busy today.

Lloyd is in a mood too, his wife isn't doing well, I think he may duck out early if it's dead in here."

"Damn, I was really hoping she would get better, I love Linda. Get out of here before the sky opens up too badly. Don't forget your keys."

I reached behind the counter by the register grabbing her keys and tossing them to her as she finished taking her apron off while walking towards the door.
