I was brimming with restless energy when I met Dane at the small cafe near my college. The classes were cancelled because of the untimely but well-deserved death of Professor Martinez, and I had nothing else to do except to be gawked at by the students so I decided to call Dane and asked if he’d like to come and meet me. Surprisingly, he said yes.

So now here I was sitting outside, under the umbrella and waiting for him. I spotted him on the opposite side of the street and waved at him as he crossed the road and walked toward me. I stood up and gave him a hug that he returned awkwardly.

“How are you?” He asked.

“You lied to me.”
