The second beeping of the medical pump caused Aurora's mother's head to jerk up. She looked at the machine and then swiveled her attention to Dr Voss, a question in her eyes. I was equally focused, watching Dr Voss move again swiftly to the pump. "Sorry for that again but I think its time for her to .... to....", Dr Voss started to stammer as she looked at me.

I instantly understood what she was discreetly referring to. She was talking about Aurora's likely need for a change of a diaper soon. A

Loved that Aurora’s mum was called, as if anyone could pull her back, it would be her mum. Loved that she reminded him of all the awful things he did to Aurora and how much she suffered… Hopefully he’ll feel guilty.. I want him to suffer… Thank you, author, for these chapters!

  • CAPTURED AS THE ALPHA’S SURROGATE   Apologizing to her mother

Picking up a dead leaf with her fingers, Aurora's mother crushed it in her fist as I stayed silent.“My daughter never deserves all the pain you have made her pass through,” She hissed as her head came up again. Agitation pushed her Wolf close to the surface, the pigment in her eyes darkening to match that of her beast. Both stared back at me. Undisguised malice and hate swirled in her expression, hate I knew was partly aimed at me yet she forced her voice to stay controlled.“I swear to you, she didn’t know the full truth of what her father did to your mother and the unborn pup, all the evil he did. I didn’t know it either. Not until Oracle Memoree visited me.” She spoke and there was no pretext in her words, just simple transparency. She was telling me the truth, even as the anger in her gaze never fully left.At this point, I couldn’t help myself. “I'm really sorry”, The words came out of my mouth before I could stop myself. Aurora’s mother raised her head, soulful green eyes lost

She was talking about Aurora's likely need for a change of a diaper soon. Aurora's mother certainly didn't need to be on hand for that process. Even though she was her mother, I didnt want her to see the damages they did to her private parts and besides that I had questions that needed answers.Answers from her and we had to be far from here. eE though Aurora remained unconscious, I didn't want her hearing our conversation. I wasn't willing to risk anything we talked about upsetting her."Let's, let's talk outside as the healers do their role." I spoke to her.Understa

Grace gently moved the sheet and light blanket, recovering Aurora's lower body. With a quick glance at the pump that was pushing much needed nutrition into Aurora's frail body, her careful brown eyes assessed the steadily dripping feeding tube for a moment. "That's it for now." Satisfied with the performance of the medical apparatus, Dr Voss turned back to me. "Okay so ......", Before I could finish my words, the sudden beeping of the medical pump cut through the room. Dr Voss moved swiftly to the machine. With the quick push of a button the sound cut off and she met my gaze panicking. "I need to flush the line, and I suspect she will need your assistance in about twenty minutes or so because she is not responding to the treatment. Her vitals are holding, but barely. She’s slipping further. No reaction to stimuli. If this continues......""Raymond, she has refused to respond even after the human medicine, please bring in her mother maybe it will help." Mackline stopped the doctor's w

  • CAPTURED AS THE ALPHA’S SURROGATE   Healing formula

Once everything was in place, Dr Voss picked up the tubing and unwound it. Holding one end at Aurora's nose, she extended it to Aurora's ear and then down to her stomach as she explained, "I'm measuring the appropriate length to insert." She spoke. Satisfied she had the correct distance, Dr Voss marked the tubing with a permanent black pen."Since Aurora is unconscious and cannot swallow on command, I'm going to need you to manipulate and flex her neck when I tell you." Soft brown eyes looked up at me, gauging my reaction to her instructions.I moved closer, anxiety crawling down my spine as I slid one hand beneath Aurora's delicate neck to cradle it. She felt so fragile."She won't break," Dr Voss murmured reassurance. "Yes, this process is highly uncommon when it comes to your species, but Aurora's a Wolf. Her body should be able to handle it much better than any normal human."I didn't know what to say that. Aurora's tiny body had already been subjected to more horror than any huma

"Are we done here?" I asked, impatient to get back to Aurora."Wait. There is another thing.." Asher hesitated."What now?" A muscle in my jaw twitched.Asher came to stand beside me.Asher's voice deepened, "Alpha ... It's the...pack members. I get why you didn't tell them the reasons Aurora left, but she's back now, and they still don't know what's going on. Anxiety...is running high."I turned to him, a growl ripping from my throat, "No, I don't share all the intimate details of my personal devastation with the pack. I'm their fucking Alpha. I don't owe them sorid details. All they need to know is that Aurora was gone and now she's back." I added but realization hit me. It hadn't occurred to me that I might get pushback from the pack. Maybe I should have. But worse, I never anticipated Asher and Grace to stand against me the way they were now. "If either of you have shit to say about the matter of Aurora returning, don't fucking hide it. Let's get this out right here and now."Pai

Nigel stepped forward, concern etched into his features. “Raymond, how is Aurora? We’ve all been...”I didn’t even look at him.I turned my back on him completely and fixed my gaze on Grace. "Now tell me what is going on. What couldn't you say in front of Aurora?", I spoke through gritted teeth."Alpha, you already know Aurora should have woken up by now," Grace began, her voice low.She spoke the obvious, but even still, I couldn't stop my hands curling into fists. I forced myself to not react as she continued, "Since we are now in uncharted territory regarding her care, I thought it best to take as much precaution as possible in regards to her mental health, and have this conversation outside of her potential hearing.""Okay," I muttered. "What are you suggesting?""We need to make some changes regarding her care, and we need to bring in a medical doctor," she spoke matter-of-factly.Her words washed over me. As far as I knew, there wasn't a medically trained werewolf doctor in any
