Chapter 20

Alone on the dance floor, Asa suddenly felt a wave of dizziness wash over her. Each blink felt heavier, and the room began to spin. She tried to steady herself, clutching onto a nearby table, her grip slackening as her strength drained away. It felt as if the world was spiraling out of control.

A man appeared from the sea of faces, it was the same one she had been dancing with earlier, his face twisted in an expression of concern. He swooped in, catching her just as she was about to crumple onto the floor.

"Hey, are you okay?" He asked, a note of false worry in his voice.

"I...I need my friend," Asa mumbled, her words slurring as she fought the dizziness that was creeping over her. Her mind was a foggy mess, the name of her friend escaping her grasp.

The man seized the opportunity. Instead of finding her friend, he carefully maneuvered her towards the exit, his grip firm around her waist. Outside, the night was dark and the air was cool. He helped her into a waiting car, promising her
