I glanced back at Atlas who looked completely normal. Like his apartment was literally going up in flames. He didn’t look worried, or even concerned that if he wasn’t here, he would have bene in there while it was happening.

“What is going on?” My voice came out louder than I expected, but it made hum turn to me so I guess it had the desired effect. He had just bee staring straight ahead with the most empty expression I have ever seen on his face yet. And I have seen a lot of his blank expression but nothing like this.

“Nothing.” He replied simply. I raised a brow and he shook his head. “Come on.” He stretched his hand out for me to take and I place mine in his without hesitation.

It was after I did it that I even took note of the action but it was already too late to back down then.
