The Osita family was in chaos. Their reputations plummeted. Alia Furniture stores' scores in Savrow were stagnant.

To add to their woes, Kalus stopped support for them. If they could not come up with an idea, they would be bankrupt as soon as they used up the capital from Mike Corporation.

The Denz family stunned the public by announcing that Alia Furniture was dealing in poor quality products. Zz World, after a long while, returned to the center of attention.

"Following your instructions, I had Michael Gordon secretly followed after he left his job. He had met Zeke on multiple occasions."

Steven took my delicate hand and slowly massaged cuticle oil into my newly done burgundy-colored manicure. "You're so clever to have read that guy's mind."

"He took bribes and teamed up with Zeke to go against the interests of our hotel. That means that they're in league with each other."

I smiled contentedly as I luxuriated in Steven's attention.

The Osita family is going to hold a press conference

Chapter 52My eyelashes trembled, and my chest was choking. I glared straight into the eyes of Kalus Mike with a fiery stare. My shining and beautiful eyes had so much fury in them that Kalus Mike wanted to turn away. He was shocked at how dominant and powerful the stare-down was from me.Finally, I erupted into laughter. I looked at him like we were strangers."Oh, so you're here to vent your anger on behalf of your beloved fiancée, huh? I bet you've been holding it in for quite some time now. Are you going to explode if you don't confront me today?"I said to myself, "Kalus Mike, you're really something. After three years of marriage, I didn't ask you for anything. Even if you don't like all the good things I've done, you shouldn't continue to use such foul language to embarrass me! Furthermore, I don't belong to you anymore. Actually, you've never let me belong to you. I'm a stray cat that has been lingering in front of your door, waiting for you to take me home. I waited for that

Chapter 51Last night, I covertly met with Michael, who was getting drunk in a tavern. I cautioned him that Zeke would get him thrown under the bus for himself tomorrow at the press conference."Completely out of the question! You… Don't even think about trying to use me like that! I won't be seen as a witness. I'm not stupid!""You're stupid if you still continue at being so stubborn," I replied, my voice soft but firm. So, Dera and Michael made a pact last night.I'm going to be frank with you. I have evidence of you and Zeke cooperating. I haven't shown it to the prosecutors yet because I wanted to offer you one last chance on my father's behalf, as he was the one who appointed you to your job.Michael recalled his career life of the past 20 years. He started off as a manager of a banquet hall and then became vice president over the years. Besides his own efforts, Wyatt's support was a principal cause of his professional development.Later, when Michael was in a position of power,

Chapter 50Dean Denz's picture was found on the official website of the Supreme Court three years ago. Dean had stood straight in court, arguing zealously in the picture, posing in a ceremonial gown. This software that Kalus Mike had developed allowed him to search for one's information within three to five minutes from a photo that had been uploaded. It was faster and more accurate than usual search engines. But it took a complete ten minutes searching for Dean. This was a surprise, as Dean was not frequently spotted in public and did not put up photos of himself on the internet. Why would Dean be so secretive if he was just a prosecutor?"Frank Denz… Dean Denz…" Kalus Mike pondered this for a moment. In an instant, he got an idea. His eyes widened in shock. Could he be…Great!Kalus Mike scrunched up his eyes. It looked like there was an oncoming storm on his face. His throat was too tight that he couldn't catch his breath."Amara Kol, how come you're such a player after you left me

Chapter 49Two voices of men thundered on the speaker in the dining hall."Mr. Gold, were I doing it for your money, why would I exchange a good mattress for one of such bad quality? That privileged child of a new manager found it and even fired me on the spot for it. Now I cannot even find a job in Savrow. You must save me!""Don't tell me that it's all for me. Didn't you also earn a lot of money from this? The kickbacks I gave you were not a small amount. Even if you don't work for the rest of your life, you won't die of hunger." One of the voices belonged to Michael, and the latter one was obviously Zeke's.The reporters were overjoyed at this amazing news. Zeke gripped the edge of the table, sweating. His legs almost collapsed."What is this?! Who filmed this?! Switch it off now!"The speakers were cut off, but a couple of pictures flashed onto the projector. It was a slide show of Michael and Zeke going in and out of the nightclub."Mr. Gold! This is not what you have promised m

Chapter 48After I had consumed the chocolate, I playfully shoved the other half of the chocolate bar into Steven's suit pocket and patted his chest."Hm. You're pretty fit," I teased, a twinkle of mischief in my eye.Steven's heart skipped a beat. He flushed and had a parched throat as I bullied him. Steven was four years senior to me. At that point, Steven's father headed Zz Group's law division and had always been well treated by Wyatt. So, Steven used to visit Yara Park when he was still a teenager.Steven still remembered the day he first saw me in the garden behind Yara Park. He saw a beautiful little girl dressed up in an angel costume, dancing in the distance. He thought that he was dreaming, so he rubbed his eyes. But that little angel "flew" to him. She wore a pure white angel costume, and she seemed ethereal."Hey, you got any candy?" I rolled off my skateboard, stepped onto the edge of it, and grasped it in one smooth motion."Huh?" Steven panicked. He silently cursed hims

Chapter 47I couldn't take it anymore. The bickering between the two brothers had hit a fever pitch, and I'd had enough. I sent a text to the group, attempting to restore some sense of sanity to the discussion. "That's enough! You guys are acting so immature."The second that my message sank in, the two brothers immediately straightened up. It was as though they were waiting for someone to walk in and end their arguing. I let out a sigh of relief, trying to calm my racing heart. The tension was palpable, and I knew we needed to discuss the elephant in the room."Justin is investigating us because he's probably suspecting Axel's identity," I continued, my fingers lightly tapping on the screen as I typed. "Axel defended me twice, and Justin must have noticed Asher wouldn't do that."My sparkling eyes dulled as I twirled the red wine in my glass, the liquid swirling around like a red vortex. I was always the peacekeeper of our group, but not this time. This time, I had to make a decision

Chapter 46"Is it red?" I lifted my right hand and stroked my warm cheek shyly. "It's probably the wine…" "Weren't you headed to the wine cellar? Your face was already red before you had a sip." Steven continued on this vein. Steven was intelligent and able, but he was naive. He did not realize that I was fantasizing some dirty thoughts previously."Shut up, Ugh!" I rolled my eyes cutely and made my exit. Steven was crestfallen. He had no clue that he had hurt my feelings, so he followed me closely like a puppy.Steven and I proceeded to the wine cellar, which contained nearly a thousand bottles of red wine that Frank had picked out especially for me. That was because he knew I drank during my spare time. All the wines on the racks were expensive, and most of them were collector's bottles I had bought at auctions. Wyatt did not even have some of these wines, but I had dozens of bottles. If I sold the dozens of bottles, I could afford to buy Savrow. I walked around the racks of wine a

"By the way, how is Dera doing in Savrow recently? She's really determined to challenge the Osita Corporation. But if she's not careful, I'm afraid others will resent her and she'll get into trouble. As Declan and Drew aren't here, you two have to protect her at all times. Do you hear me?" Wyatt's voice was commanding, and his eyes were full of worry for Dera."Okay, Dad.""Don't worry, Dad. The four of us will keep my little sister safe no matter what!""You don't have to kill them. Just make them wish they were dead." Wyatt narrowed his eagle-like eyes and elegantly took another sip of wine.Wyatt and Frank departed after dinner. On their way out, Dean noticed Frank's phone on the table vibrating. The caller ID indicated that it was Kalus calling.Dean rose, looked around, cleared his throat, and answered the call."Do you need something, Mr. Mike?""I am calling Amara Kol." Kalus's arrogance angered Dean."Kalus, you are out of your mind. What right does Amara have to answer your c

Lastly, Gregory vowed to Joseph that he would never interfere with the affairs of the Osita family for the sake of appeasing the old man.Gregory and Shannon left with their heads hung low in despair, while Joseph looked at the mess inside the study brimming with rage."Ugh! Those cunning women have you and your father under their thumbs!"I kneeled down to clean up the pieces of glass on the ground. My head was spinning dementedly.'Did anyone go to Inalia on behalf of Frank? But Dad is acquainted with Frank. He would not be wrong, as the two have encountered each other previously numerous times. Or does the old man suffer from Alzheimer's?'This is when I picked up a collapsible fan."Is that yours, Grandpa?""Oh no! I was so furious that I almost broke it. Bring it to me now."Joseph's eyes softened as he continued, "Amara made this fan for me. The calligraphy and painting on it are hers."I didn't know Amara was capable of painting or doing calligraphy.I bristled and didn't know
