After toying with her for what felt like forever, we finally let the little omega scamper off like the pathetic slut she was.

She bolted out the door so fast, it was almost funny—her tears probably still streaming down that plain face of hers. I could picture her sobbing in some dark corner, cursing her worthless life.

His eyes bored into me, like he thought he had the right to ask me dumb questions.

“And why should I explain myself to you?” I shot back, my voice low and edged with annoyance.

I strolled over to the wall, running my fingers along the cold stone, feeling the rough texture under my skin.

Why waste breath on him?

Chapter 18 - Why Should I Do That?LENA >’t believe any of this was real. For a moment, I honestly thought I was stuck in some terrible dream. My heart was pounding so hard it hurt. My hands were shaking bad, cold and clammy like I’d dipped them in ice water. The room spun a little, the faces of the other slaves blurring into mean shadows. This can’t be happening. It just can’t.I tapped myself once on the arm. Wake up, Lena. Please wake up.I did it multiple times, my fingers digging in, the pain shooting up my arm. But nothing changed.I wasn’t dreaming. Why?Why does it have to be me when there are other slaves that can be chosen as the Alphas’ personal maid? The thought screamed in my head, over and over. There were dozens of them in this room—slaves who’d been here for years, who knew the rules inside out, who actually wanted this, who dreamed of it like it was a gift from the moon.Slaves who whispered about the Alphas like they were heroes from stories, not t

Chapter 17- Life Turning From Bad To WorseLENA She spat the words, then turned and stormed off, her footsteps echoing down the hall. As soon as her footsteps faded and I was sure she had left, I broke down. Tears streamed down my face as I sank to the floor, my shoulders shaking.“She’s gone…” I whispered, my voice cracking. “And now You are going to get in trouble—for standing up for me.” My sobs came harder, my hands clutching at my chest as if to hold myself together. “Why did you have to open your mouth? Why didn’t you just ignore me so as to save you from what is going to happen? They’ll never let this go.”Lucia knelt beside me, pulling me close without hesitation. “Hey,” she said firmly, wiping one of my tears away. “Don’t you dare feel bad for this. I chose to stand up for you. I won’t just stand there and watch you be treated like that.”I shook my head, guilt still clouding my face. “But it’s my fault… I am the one that was threatened..”“No,” Lucia interrupted, her voice

Chapter 16- You Owe Me. LENA“Why don’t you guess?” she said, taking a step closer, her tone soft and playful, but her eyes were dark and cold.I took a small step back. My mind raced, thoughts tumbling over each. What did she want now? More lies? To finish what she started? My breath came in short gasps, the air feeling too thin, like I couldn’t get enough into my lungs.“You should be thanking me, you know,” she said, tilting her head to the side. “You’re alive because I let you live. You owe me for that.”My brows furrowed with confusion. “Owe you?”“Yes,” she whispered, circling me like a predator. “You owe me a debt. And I always collect my debts.”“I don’t owe you anything!” I snapped, but even to my own ears, my voice sounded weak. She chuckled softly. “Oh, you do. You owe me your life. If I had told them that I wanted you dead for using a knife on me, they’d have ripped you apart before sunset. But I didn’t. I saved you. That means you belong to me now.”Her words sent more

Chapter 15- Are You Here To Frame Me Again“Are you okay?” a voice asked soft, cutting through the quiet.I immediately wiped my tears with the back of my hand, my eyes puffy and sore, and raised my head slow to see who it was.A girl about my age stood there, her maid uniform like mine. Her hair was tied back simple, her hands nervously folded in front of her.Her expression wasn’t cruel. It wasn’t mocking. She just… looked worried.“I am fine,” I said quick, my voice cracking despite trying to sound strong. “Are you here to mock me like the other maids? You can get it started so we can get it over with soon.”Her eyes widened, and she lifted her hands slightly in defense. “What? No! Why would you even think that?” she said, shaking her head fast. “I’d never be like them. I’m not like them.”I looked at her, searching her face for the lie, for the trick. But her eyes were sincere. “Then… why are you here?” I asked her. “Because I was so worried when you left. I had to search every

Please, it’s a setup!I screamed until my throat burned, my voice cracking as I tried to explain. “Please! It’s a lie! She stabbed herself! I didn’t touch her!”But the room exploded. Voices everywhere, mean and angry. “Then why is the knife right next to you if you didn’t do it?” Someone yelled from the crowd. “You’re a demon!” another yelled, stepping forward, her eyes wild. “Worse than the rogues! At least rogues don’t lie—they own what they do! You? You pretend and stab in the back!”“I… I… didn’t do that,” I stammered, my words tripping over themselves, my hands shaking as I held them up.But no one listened. What if this summon was punishment? What if my fate was already decided, and I was walking straight into it?Suddenly, a sharp voice cut through the fog in my head. “Are you by any chance deaf?” the head slave snapped, her tone cold as ice, her eyes narrowing at me. I blinked fast, heat rushing to my face as I bowed my head low in shame.“I-I’m so sorry for not answering right away,” I stammered, my voice barely above a whisper. “I was just… scared.”The word came out small. My heart hadn’t stopped racing. She didn’t care about my fear. Her eyes were hard, unbothered, like she’d seen a hundred
