ログインAmber's POV
"And by the way, it's Enzo. No need to be so formal now." He adds with a teasing wink.
I want to die. My face is a ball of flames. I swallow hard, my heart pounding so violently against my ribcage I'm afraid it might burst out.
Am I perhaps ovulating?
Or why the hell is my body reacting to this man in the strangest possible way?
It's like a wildfire licking through my veins, consuming every rational thought, one I can't control, no matter how hard I try.
But I use every ounce of self-control I have left and push him off.
"This is a work environment," I hiss, my voice shaking with both anger and arousal.
"We're expected to act professional, not you fawning over me like some horny teenager. I came here for an interview. For that only."
He tilts his head, studying me like I'm a puzzle he can't quite solve. There's curiosity in his eyes now, mixed with suspicion.
"And what about our previous deal?" he asks, his voice slow and his gaze suspicious. "When is it taking effect?"
My brain reels.
Deal? What the hell is he talking about? What deal?
Wait! He must have had a deal with Suz,y but I know nothing about it.
Worse still, it's too late to try to convince him that I'm not Suzy. And even if I succeed in convincing him, how will that help me get this job?
I erase the look of confusion on my face and keep my expression neutral. If what it takes to get this job is to pretend to be Suzy, then I'm down.
"Well, about the agreement," I start, keeping my voice casual. "I changed my mind."
Enzo scoffs, the sound dripping with disbelief. "I don't think so. What about your father in the hospital at Darkvalley Pack? And the surgery bills you have to settle?"
My stomach drops violently. Father? Hospital? Darkvalley Pack?
What the hell is this Suzy girl into?
"We already had a deal," he continues, his voice hardening. "And you can't back down now. You already got half of the money I promised. Are you sure you want to forfeit the remaining five hundred thousand dollars?"
Five hundred thousand dollars?
My mind spins, struggling to process the astronomical amount. That's exactly the kind of money I need.
Shit! Even more than I need, actually.
I could hire a lawyer to finalize my divorce with Ryan. I could get a place of my own, start my career fully, without depending on anyone.
But what the hell is this deal? What did Suzy agree to? What if I agree only to find out it's something dangerous?
Nah. Things could get messy. Really, really messy.
And seriously, where the hell did this Suzy girl disappear to?
"I'll sort myself out," I tell him, choosing my words carefully. "I no longer need your help."
He looks at me like I've completely lost my mind. Like I just said, the most ridiculous thing he's ever heard.
"You're delusional," he says coldly, his expression shifting into something darker and more dangerous. "Isn't it ironic? You don't need my help, yet you came to me for a job."
He shoves his hands into his pockets, striding back to his desk
"Forget about the job then if you don't want to accept the deal."
My heart sinks to my feet. No! No! No!
"And here's the thing, Suzy," he's speaking again. "You could refuse the deal, but you'll have to pay me back the money I already gave you. Every single cent. And even after that, I'll continue to hunt you down and make your life a living hell."
His tone is calm, almost soothing. But the threat is crystal clear, brooking no arguments.
I can't believe I'm about to get punished for a deal I know nothing about
I have to act fast. I can't let that happen. I can't afford to make an enemy of someone like him.
Plus, I badly need him to give me this job.
Okay, Amber. Let's focus on the good side. The deal might not even be that bad, and five hundred thousand?
Oh man!
"Wait, what was the deal again?" The words escape my lips before I can stop them.
Enzo's brows knit together, confusion and amusement flickering in his dark eyes.
"Did you hit your head on the ground? You've been acting all kinds of strange. Who forgets such an important deal?"
"Just kidding." I force out a laugh, trying to sound natural.
"Why would I even break our deal? Of course, the deal will take effect whenever you want. Now, can we get this interview done?"
Enzo studies me sceptically for a moment longer than normal, the heat of his gaze burning my skin.
"And why would I need to interview my soon-to-be wife before giving her a job?"
My eyes almost pop out of their sockets, my brain running into a frenzy
"What?"
He laughs, the low rumble echoing in my chest.
"You don't need an interview, Suzy. As long as we're getting married, you can take any job position you want in any of my companies."

Amber's POVOh. My. Goddess. The world just fucking stops spinning. Time stops. My breath stops.I blink. Then blink again, but he's still right there on the seat, looking no less god-like than he did that night, with one exception—now he looks a whole lot scarier. There's this scowl on his sexy face like he's about to murder someone. Maybe me?I clear my throat awkwardly, bracing myself. "Good morning, sir."If I thought he would answer me, then I'm greatly mistaken. He doesn't utter a word, just keeps staring at me, his eyes piercing through my skin, like he's stripping me naked.I shift uneasily on my feet, my heels suddenly feeling too tight. The air in the room shifts, becoming thicker and more congested. His Alpha aura is so large and too intimidating that I feel small and insignificant in his presence. And the fact that he isn't even saying anything?Holy heavens! He's so unbearable. My palms are growing clammy as I stand there like a total fool, sweat pooling on my forehead.I
Amber's POVJust who the hell is this Suzy? And how is it possible that everyone can't tell that I'm an entirely different person from her?Can I really be her doppelganger or what, in the next level b,ullshit is this?I squeeze my eyes shut, taking a really deep breath to summon whatever last control I have left in my body. And it works. The room stops spinning for a moment."You have the wrong person. I'm not Suzy!" Too bad! My words come out slurred, and I want to hit myself for taking too much alcohol."Really?" His eyebrow—the one with the scar—lifts slightly in amusement. Then his gaze drops to my mouth, then lower, dragging slowly over my cleavages, down to where my thighs press together. When he looks back up, there's heat in his eyes. Dark and dangerous.“Pretending to be someone else won't work on me, Suzy.” He scoffs, flicking my hair slightly. “You even dyed your hair black? Really?”I roll my eyes. This man isn't just hot. He must be deaf too.Grinding my teeth, I sna
Amber's POVHer words hit me like a freight train, confusion slamming me hard on the face like a blow. The ground disappears beneath me. I can't breathe. I can't think.'My daughter, Tiffany.' Those words echo in my ears so loud it hurts."What— what do you mean by your daughter, Tiffany?" I stutter, my lips quivering with fear.Three years ago, Ryan brought home a one-year-old Tiffany. He told me she's the daughter of his distant cousin who died in an accident. And I never questioned him. I accepted Tiffany as my own. And even when he asked me to quit my job to give her the motherly attention she needed, I did immediately. But now, all of a sudden, the baby I sacrificed my whole career for is Jade's daughter?I turn to Ryan. "What the hell is going on?" My voice rises a dangerous octave. "And you'd better be spilling the fucking truth!" "Relax, Amber. Let's talk this through like rational adults," Ryan says.Where does he get his audacity to spout absolute rubbish? As if that is no
Amber's POV"How should I ride you? Rough or soft?"A husky and breathless voice drifts out of my bedroom door, making me freeze dead in my tracks. That's definitely not my husband, Ryan's voice.I drop the wine bottle I'm holding on the living room stool, my brows furrowing together. Or did I imagine it?I mean, who could be role-playing a biker in my matrimonial bedroom? Riding rough and—?"Oh, yes!" Loud moans break through the wall yet again, cutting my thoughts off."Faster, Ryan! Please!" It gets even louder. And that's when I hear it— the wet sound of flesh hitting flesh hard and fast, accompanied by low groans that sound like Ryan's voice.Dread tightens my gut, and my heart starts to pound hard in my ears.Is Ryan trying to prank me or something? On our wedding anniversary? But then... that feminine moan. That huskiness in the voice. There's something about it that sounds too real.Too familiar. My feet move on autopilot, trembling with panic as I double up the stairs till I
