Ethan’s POV

It’s been three days.

Three whole days of taking care of Adrian—feeding him, changing his bandages, arguing with him like he isn’t half-injured and still stubborn as hell.

And three days of pretending nothing happened that night. Because apparently… for him, nothing did. He doesn’t remember.

Not the way he held me. Not the way his voice sounded—so soft it didn’t even feel like him. Not the way I… let myself forget everything and just felt.

Maybe it was the medication. The heavy dosa

  • Contracted to the man who broke me    Chapter 65: Don't Go

Ethan's POV:The other side of the bed was empty. That's what woke me.Not a sound, not an alarm — just the instinctive awareness of absence. The sheets beside me were cool, the indent in the pillow still there but vacant, and somewhere in the half-conscious part of my brain that registers these things before the rest of me catches up, I noted it.I lay there for a moment. Eyes still closed. Listening to the Blackwood Mansion settle around me — that low, familiar breathing of old stone and older wood that I'd gotten used to without realising it.Nothing alarming. Just quiet.I pushed myself up. Slow, blinking, hair in my face, the particular gracelessness of someone dragged out of sleep before they were ready. Swung my legs over the side of the bed and sat on the edge of it for a second, elbows on my knees, eyes adjusting to the morning light coming through the curtains.Bathroom. That was the plan. Simple. Two minutes, then back to bed.I stood. Padded across the room in my socks. An

  • Contracted to the man who broke me    Chapter 64: So Perfect for Him (18+)

Ethan's POV:My eyes opened slowly, heavy and blurry. The room was still bright with morning light, but it felt different now. Thicker. My body felt like lead. Every muscle ached from the all-nighter, from the fall, from everything. I blinked a few times and turned my head.Adrian was sitting on the edge of the bed, exactly the way he had been watching me before. Back straight, one arm resting on his knee, eyes fixed on me with that same calm, intense look. Like he had never left. Like he had all the time in the world while I was trying to steal one pathetic hour of sleep.I groaned and rubbed my face with both hands. “How long was I out?”“About an hour,” he said quietly. His voice was low, steady. No rush. No apology.“Sleep is done?” I muttered, half to myself, half hoping he would just leave me alone.Adrian’s lips curved into a small, dangerous smile. “Sleep is done, babyboy. Now let me take you for another round. The rest is done.”My stomach flipped. I tried to sit up, but my a

  • Contracted to the man who broke me    Chapter 63: You're Only Mine (18+)

Ethan's POV:My heart slammed against my ribs. Three hours of sleep and a hard fall had left my body slow and stupid, but my brain caught up fast enough to register the weight of him, the clean smell of his shirt, the way his hand had instinctively braced beside my head so he wouldn’t crush me completely.“Get off,” I muttered. My voice came out rough and cracked.Adrian didn’t move. His eyes, dark and steady, searched my face like he was reading lines of code only he could see. Then something in them changed. A flicker. Not anger exactly. Something hotter. Something that made the air between us feel suddenly too thin.“You spent the entire night with him,” he said quietly. His voice was low, almost calm, but there was an edge underneath it that made my stomach tighten.I blinked. “What?”“Davel.” The name left his mouth like it tasted bitter. “The two of you. Alone in the office until five in the morning. Eating together. Laughing together. Sharing that little break in the chilling r

  • Contracted to the man who broke me    Chapter 62: The Weight of Exhaustion

Ethan's POV:The clock on my screen read 10:47 PM.I'd stopped caring about the time around 9.The office had emptied hours ago — that particular kind of silence that falls over a building when everyone with a normal life has gone home to it. The cleaning staff had come and gone. The lights in the corridor outside had dimmed to their night setting, casting everything in that flat, institutional glow that made the whole floor look like the inside of someone's headache. And here we were.Me and Davel.Dying.Not literally. Though it was starting to feel close.I stared at my screen. The presentation had forty-two slides. I had finished reworking fourteen of them. The remaining twenty-eight stared back at me with a kind of malevolent patience, like they knew I was running out of will to fight them.I typed three words. Deleted them. Typed them again.Deleted them again. My back had started hurting somewhere around the eighth slide. My eyes were doing that thing where the screen seemed to

  • Contracted to the man who broke me    Chapter 61: The Weight of Glass

Adrian's POV:Business always ends with a handshake.Power ends with silence. And tonight… mine ended with a glass of whiskey and the city of New York bleeding gold beneath my feet.I leaned back in my chair as Ben Shroff finally stopped talking numbers. The man had a habit of stretching conversations like rubber — useful when negotiating, irritating when I'd already made my decision ten minutes ago. He was the kind of man who confused speaking with thinking. I'd met a thousand of him. I'd buried most of them, professionally speaking."The deal stands," I said flatly, tapping my fingers once against the table. "But only if the shipment moves under my conditions."His lips twitched. Calculating. Nervous.Good.That's where I like them. Right on the edge of yes — where a man will agree to almost anything just to stop feeling like he's losing. He nodded.A few more formalities followed. A few more fake smiles exchanged across a table that cost more than most people's monthly rent. Signat

  • Contracted to the man who broke me    Chapter 60: The Scent of Absence

Adrian's POV:I tried to sleep after Seraphine left. But the bed felt too cold, too vast, too achingly empty without Ethan's scent and presence beside me. I lay there staring at the ceiling for what felt like an hour, maybe more, listening to the silence of the room like it was mocking me. It was disturbing, deeply and unsettlingly disturbing, how quickly I had grown dependent on something I once convinced myself I could live without. He is my long-lost addiction I rediscovered again, and now it seems nearly impossible to exist without it. Like a man who had been sober for years, only to take one sip and remember exactly why he could never stop. That's what Ethan is to me. That's what he has always been.Meanwhile, staying under the same roof with Seraphina felt like cheating on Ethan. Though the rooms were different, though nothing had happened, the guilt sat in my chest like a stone I couldn't dislodge. He was hurt once, and I cannot bear to be the reason for his pain again. Not a s

Adrian's POV Morning came earlier than usual, I only slept for barely 4 hours. My eyes were heavy and voice was heavy but still leaving the bed I went to get ready. Adrian’s POVI had few drinks, and on top of that a cigar, had made my head light weight. My mind was focused on Ethan as I see him on my screen, my eyes glued as he works relentlessly, having no water or food but a cup of coffee. He hates black coffee but still haves it when working dedicately whi
