Patrick’s POV

I scooped a spoon of spagetti and I ate it quietly as I waited for her to pick up her spoon.

“Mr who?” Grace asked as she raised her head to me.

I smiled, “Dean… A doctor.”

She gulped as she shook her head. “What about him?”

I stared at her mute. My mind reeling with thoughts. I hope she doesn’t deny knowing him. I saw the pictures Melissa showed me. Grave had been with Dean. that fraud.

If she denies him, then she is lying and who knows what else she is lying to me about. Could it be everything?

I nodded at her. “Do you know him?”

Grace stared blankly at me for a while, then she burst into laughter. “How would I? I just came back from the states, Patrick.”

“Is that so?” I asked, holding my smile in place, but dead down, my heart is in shambles. It had cracked from the core. She nodded and just faced her food as she ate.

The atmosphere had changed, it suddenly became tensed and it only points to the fact that the question I asked has touched a spot. I guess we should just have our lunch then.

I closed my eyes as I took a deep breath. I stole glances at her and the few times our eyes met, she would shove her hair behind her ear as she licked her lips.

She is lying. Why? What relationship does she share with Mr. Dean?

Grace… I love you so much, I hope all this is a misunderstanding. Could it be that Melissa had those pictures photoshopped just to make me leave Grace?

That must be it… or could it be that she was there for some charity case or study of some sort and she doesn’t know that his name is Mr. Dean?

I hope so. I hope Grace is betraying me. Like my father betrayed my father. I hope she would not break my heart.

I sighed as I pushed my food away. I have lost my appetite, totally.

Grace raised her gaze to me. “What is the matter?” she asked with large eyes.

She looked so innocent. My Grace. I really pray there is nothing you are hiding from me. “I’m good.”

She sat there and ate her food in silence as I watched her. The moment she finished, she wiped her lips with the napkin and my eyes were peeled to it.

My mind went numb as I stare at her lips, which was still shining from the oil in the dish. She licked it as she looked at me. She raised a brow and asked me, “Why are you staring so much?”

I sighed. “You’re pretty.”

She looked down and smiled, her cheeks flushed as she pushed her hair out of her face. “Thank you.”

The atmosphere is a bit lighter now. She doesn’t seem to be as tensed as before and I think I like this part of her. I would not bring up Dean’s matter again, until I am sure of what is going on as soon as Diego is don’t with the investigation.

I got up and walked up to her, I held the table and I bend down, as my lips nearly touched her reddened ears. “Are you shy?”

She shook her head and looked ahead, trying to avoid eye contacts with me. I knew she wanted to melt away, but I just want to have a bit of fun with her, and make the room a little more lighter and… romantic.

“Stop it, Patrick.”

“Why?” I growled. “Don’t you like it?”

She shook her head ads she pushed back her chair and she rushed towards the stairs. I caught her hand and piulled her back to me.

As she twirled in to my arms I pinched her chin and lifted her head as I pressed a soft kiss on her lips. Her neck muscles tightened as she kissed me back.

I took the initiative and I crounched down as I took her lips whole, sliding my tongue into her mouth.

We pulled back, gasping for breath as I cupped her face and stared into her eyes. “See where running landed you.” I brushed my thumb over her plump wet lips.

She smiled. “You are such a naughty boy.”

I smirked. “Am I?”

She rolled her eyes and then we locked gaze again. “Is everything okay?”

I raised a brow. What is she talking about? Is it the kiss?

“A while ago… your question, I hope everything is fine.”

I sighed. “Ermm…” My hand lifted to the back of my head as I scratched it. “Nothing is wrong, I was just telling you about my experience, that’s all.”

She stared at me blankly for a while, then her lips tilted upwards slowly as she smiled warmly. “That’s fine… I enjoyed the conversation, I will be going to my room now though.”

I nodded and then grabbed the back of her head and I pecked it, as she shifted and slipped away from my hands I felt my heart race.

I tooka deep breath as I watched her leave. I feel empty all of a sudden.

I love Grace a lot, I hope she is not lying to me… I hope you are not decieving me. I’ve already seen the worse, but I am willing to give love a try, I am bringing my walls down because of you.

Don’t fail me… It’ll break me.

I felt a pang in my heart at the thought of that and I staggered back and rested my hips on the dinning table, as I reached for my chest, grabbing my shirt tight.

“I love you, Grace… please don’t be fake,” I breathed as I ran my hand through my hair.

My phone started to vibrate on the table. It was Diego. I gulped.

I picked it up. “Hey…”

There was a pause and then a huff from the other side of the line. “Grace is…”

My heart paused and at theat moment I blanked out, not hearing what he said. “Could you please repeat it, Diego.” I gulped.

Grace’s POVHis car drove into the garage. I sat on the bed, staring into space, calculating how long it would take for him to come. It had been a long wait, nowthat he was here my fast beating heart hammered against my chest. A sharp pain ran through my side, I grabbed it as I gritted my teeth. It was torture to keep my eyes open, after crying since I saw that heart wretching video. A chuckle left my dry lips. “I thought I had been playing him, all along. But he was such a good gamer.”The sound of his footsteps approaching the room became louder. The little things I could pack to make sure I didn’t leave anything when I leave was in a tote bag behind me. “Well played. Mr Patrick Vanner.” A stray tear rushed into my mouth though the corner of my lips and I licked it up. It would have been easy if I’d just left after seeing that video. But a part me wanted to see him. One last time– to ask him why he had done that to me.Though his reply might hurt, but would it hurt more than I w

Patrick’s POV“What do you mean by she was not in the city?” I yelled to Diego over the phone. “Diego, find her, or else–” I dropped the call. Pacing my room in the last few minutes had felt like a century to me. What the heck is wrong with that young lady? Just when I thought we would start on a clean slate. Shit. She can’t leave me. I can’t lose her. Not yet. I deserve to put her through something. Patrick’s POV“Fuck– I–” I stuttered as I paced my office. She is a fucking virgin. God damn it. I kicked down the trash bin on the side, out of frustration. “I almost ruined her life. I was going to blackmail her with a video of myself taking her virginity. That was the worse torture.”“What about what she did to us, man?” I furrowed my brows as I turned back to see myself sitting in my chair. He looked dull, dark circles were under his eyes and his hair was disheveled. “What?” I asked my disheveled self. “She hurt us, so she deserves everything you choose to do with her. You couldn’t even sleep last night. See what she made of you.”I gulped. Running my hand through my hair. “Anything? Even to do that to an innocent girl?” “Fuck. who said she was innocent because she was a fucking virgin. Have you seen what she did to us man.” he drew a deep breath. “We had never been in love. But, because of how smart she played us, we looked past our trauma and gave her a chance.”I closed my

Grace’s POV“What?!” Patrick growled. He stared at my face in horror. He smiled slowly, blinking at me as he searched my face. “You’ve got to be kidding, Grace, you’re twenty–”“Two,” I cut in, licking my lips. “Twenty two, ugh.” he shook his head, out of unbelief. “You’re a fucking virgin? At this time?” What is that look on his face? Is he not happy I kept myself and I’m willing to let him take it now? I threw my hands around his neck as I pulled him down for a kiss. “Hmm, baby. Forget all of that and take me already.” Our lips met and I kissed him hungrily, throwing my legs around his waist. “Grace– Ughh,” he groaned as pulled away from the kiss, our lips smacking. “Grace– look at me.”I furrowed my brows, pouting, as I took a deep breath and stared at him.
