The smile on my face wiped off when my eyes caught Eric's clad in a navy blue suit.

“Hey Chloe,” he said, waving with a nervous smile.

My feet stilled, and I immediately turned back to go when I felt his hands on my arm.

“I'm still blocked on your list; that's when I couldn't call before coming,” he muttered.

I turned around and faced him. “It means I still don't want to talk to you,” I retorted, extending the bouquet back to him.

“Please, I’d like you to have it,” he said.

“Take it,” I insisted, my tone firm. And then he reluctantly collected it.

I know that my divorce with Jeffrey wasn't exactly his fault.

Things ended because Jeffrey was tired and didn't have the balls to just say so. Still, I can't help but feel that Eric was partly responsible.
