Chapter 40

　　Christine had a crazy day of fun with Typhoon, she then played with her mother on sofa in the evening until she passed out.

Lauren carefully picked Christine up and tucked her in the bed in the guest bedroom. She kissed her on the forehead, turned off the light and quietly closed the door.

Jenny peeled two apples and served them on a small plate as a snack.

\"Why do you look so tired? You were away for just a few days, did something happen between you and Terrence?\"

Jenny could see Lauren\'s oddness at a glance and she carefully asked her.

Lauren ate an apple and lightly knocked Jenny on the head. \"What are you talking about? What can happen between the two of us?\"

Jenny thought about it for a while until she eventually responded, \"Yeah, you\'re right. What should have and shouldn\'t have happened has already been said and done.\"
