As the days passed, Aisla and I walked through every corner of this place.

Once in a while, letters came from old friends.

They said that after I left, Penelope and Hughie seemed to have gone crazy. Every day, they asked everyone they knew about my whereabouts.

They even caused scenes at government offices more than once, but nothing ever came of it.

Penelope even terminated the pregnancy. She apologized to me in front of the entire city, saying she shouldn't have cheated and shouldn't have taken my love for granted.

Hughie cried every day, saying he would never eat candy again and that he shouldn't have disobeyed me.

Almost overnight, the public's view of them completely flipped.

Penelope went from a respected executive to a tramp people openly despised, while Hughie became an ungrateful kid no one wanted to be associated with.

Even Penelope's company was dragged down by it, and the stock price plunged.
