Dillon’s POV The ocean breeze was a little cooler so early in the morning, which I appreciated. I’d been running along the beach for well over half an hour, and I was sweating pretty badly. Everything was in order for my surprise vow renewal, which would take place after Jordyn and Dakota’s afternoon wedding. Stella had come through and packed Cass a beautiful dress. Every time I thought about it, I got a shiver of excitement. I couldn’t wait to profess my love for her all over again. The sun was still low on the horizon when I got back to our room, and I was surprised to see Cass already up. The kids were still sound asleep, worn out from their big day yesterday. “There you are,” Cass said, sidling up to me. She was still in her silk night gown, her hair messy from sleep. She was stunning. I planted a kiss on her cheek and told her I was going to take a quick shower. “I ordered us some room service,” she sa
Cassandra’s POV “Sorry we’re late,” I said sheepishly, sliding into my empty chair. It was pretty obvious that Dillon and I were late because we’d been making love. There was no need to say anything more about it. That is, unless you’re Stella. “Taking full advantage of the kid’s club, I assume?” This caused everyone to chuckle knowingly. “Have you ordered yet?” Dillon asked, changing the subject. “Of course not,” Dakota said. “We were waiting for you.” Jordyn and Dakota looked like entirely different people. The afternoon nap had served them well. Dakota’s long hair cascaded over her shoulders and she had a flower above her right ear. She was donning an elegant sundress, and her cheeks glowed. Stella and Cameron also looked great, with Stella in a short blue cocktail dress, her hair piled high on her head and Cameron in a Hawaiian print shirt. I was wearing a lavender silk tank top and
Cassandra’s POV The water was crystal clear and the sand felt euphoric between my toes. Jordyn and Dakota were taking a nap after what sounded like a disastrous journey here. So we all offered to take little Stanley to the beach with us. Dillon, Stella and I all lounged in our chairs, sipping a Pina Colada from a giant coconut while Cameron built sand castles with all the kids. Since our arrival, I’d been floored by how beautiful and relaxing the resort was. I was pretty wired up when we got here, but in the past twenty four hours, I’d managed to really relax. The adults were all having dinner together tonight while the kids went to the kid’s club. Tulia and Jordie were especially excited, since the resort featured a rope climbing wall and an escape room that they couldn’t wait to try out. The actual wedding ceremony was on the last night of the trip. Dakota and Jordie were staying an extra week as honeymooners, and we were takin
Jordyn’s POV On the morning we were supposed to leave for the airport, a massive snow storm struck the region. Dakota was already up, standing by the window, a cup of coffee in her hand, her back turned to me. “The planes won’t take off. Not in this,” she shook her head. The snow was coming down hard. I’d already checked with the airport and she was right. All planes were grounded until further notice. “Is this a sign?” she asked, turning to me, her face fraught with worry. “No,” I chuckled. “Not at all. This is just mother nature.” We weren’t really sure what to do. We could wait out the storm, but who knew how long that would be? Our friends had bent over backwards to make it to Cancun on such short notice, and now here we were, stuck in Sweden. I called the pilot of my private jet and he confirmed that he couldn’t fly in these conditions. I asked him if he had any suggestions. “Well, if you can
Stella’s POV “Houston, we have a problem,” I said to Cameron the moment I got home. Rose saw me and ran straight for my arms. I hefted her onto my hip. Tulia glanced up from the kitchen table where she was working on her homework. “Hey Mom,” she smiled. “Hello, love muffin,” I smiled back. Then I locked eyes with Cameron. “We need to talk. Now.” I motioned for us to go somewhere out of ear shot as I set down Rose. “Go and color with your sister, honey,” I told her. She waddled away and took her seat at the kitchen table with Tulia. Grabbing Cameron by the elbow, I dragged him into the living room. He wiped his hands on his apron. “What is it?” he asked. “I have cookies in the oven, so whatever it is, make it quick.” “Dillon’s planning a surprise vow renewal for Cassandra,” I started. “Of course he is. It’s Dillon,” Cameron said dryly. “Yes. But…Cassandra just informed me that she’s also planning on
Cassandra’s POV The idea had come to me Monday night when Dillon offered to run a hot bath for me. He was so good to me. And I wanted to do something to show him that I appreciated him. The thought had just sort of popped into my head. And the more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea. A surprise vow renewal on the beach was the exact sort of thing that Dillon would do. It was a grand romantic gesture. He’d love it! So naturally I’d gone to Stella for him. Breaking our cardinal rule NOT to talk about our husbands or personal lives over Tuesday nachos, I told her my plan. She’d been a bit stunned at first. Probably because I wasn’t usually the one planning stuff like this. I took her stunned silence as a compliment. She nodded as I told her my plan. A moonlit cruise, on a private catamaran, with a violin, no maybe a harp?(Stella) – “Overkill”Okay, a violin playing in the background. I
