Scene at the mall

SASHA’S POV

Throughout the ride to the mall, Nina was in daze. Despite my explanation for the tenth time, her brain was still foggy, not enough to let my explanation sink in.

When I offered to drive, so she won’t get us both killed, she refused, grabbed the car key from me and revved the car’s engine to life.

Just a few minutes before reaching the mall, she asked the question I’ve been trying to avoid. I knew she was going to ask. Sooner or later.

Nina, as always, has been a straight forward bitch. She says the truth and never tried to sugarcoat it. Maybe this was the reason she never had any friends other than me.

“Are you sure about this?” She asked, her eyes fixed on the expressway and her lips paused in a thin line.

When I didn’t say a word, she asked again, this time, her voice was a bit louder than usual. Just like a mother hen. “Are you sure, Sasha?”

“Yes, I am, Nina.” I assured her, my voice barely above a whisper but radiating with confidence.

SASHA’S POVIt was Saturday morning and the sun slipped into my room through the crack in the curtain.I felt energetic as I rose from the bed and I could swear today was the happiest I’ve ever been in three years.Once I was done with my morning routine, I stepped out of the room and met Nina with a cup of coffee as always.“Want some coffee?” She offered but I declined with a squeeze on my face. That shows I wasn’t a coffee girlie. That shit tastes as bitter as love. I’ve come to realize that loving someone who doesn’t give a flying fuck about me was definitely as bitter as coffee.Roland made me have a taste of how bitter and life-draining loving someone could be and I doubt I will ever fall in love again.I would rather focus on my career and be an independent woman feared by many than to be a shadow of myself. A woman with low self esteem. A woman begging to be loved. That flashed my mind back to my grandfather’s favorite mantra. ‘Fool me once, Shame on you. Fool me twice, shame

NOAH’S POV “You’d do no such thing in my house, Roland.” Grandma Petal’s strained voice resonated around the walls of the hall. Roland shut his eyes as he cursed in a low voice. His eyes snapped open, staring at me with anger, hatred and jealousy glimmering in them. “Take a seat,” Grandma Petal, who with the help of her butler, walked towards her wooden throne-like seat. “Now!” Roland took a step back and leaned closer as he whispered into my ear. “This isn’t over.” I stared blankly at him because I knew for a fact he would never give up, not when his pride was on the line. He found himself a seat, close to his mother and sister and then, the whole hall fell silent. The power of a family matriarch. “I heard the good news, Roland,” she started, her wrinkled face stretched into a proud smile. “You did a great job. I’m pleased.” Roland smiled, a proud one at that as his eyes met mine. The fucker was in fact speaking to me with his eyes. ‘I’ve taken what’s yours once agai

Despite knowing our marriage was a fake one, I wanted to make it look as real as possible.Sasha might be my fake wife for a year, but she deserved everything real.I wouldn’t treat her the way Roland did. She had gone through a lot.For the first time in three years, I let out a small smile. A genuine one. “Such a stubborn woman.”While I was busy smiling like a sheep, the door to my office pushed open and my assistant, Matt, walked in and bowed his head. His brows arched when he caught a whim of the smile on my lips before it completely disappeared. “I see you’ve lost your manners, now Matt, haven’t you?”He panicked as he tried to defend himself from my wrath. “I’m sorry, President Beck. I lost my manners for a second.” He admitted. With a nod, I clicked my tongue, returning my gaze tothe laptop

  • Divorced By My Ex, Accepted By His Step-Brother    Fifty thousand dollars ring

SASHA’S POV It all felt like a dream. A dream which I’ve come to accept as the gruesome reality. I was now married for the second time to Noah Beck. A ruthless, and meticulous billionaire. My Ex-husband’s step-brother. After we both signed the contract, we went directly to the city hall for the exchange of rings and vows. Noah Beck’s assistant and the marriage official were the only witnesses we had present, but it wasn’t like I cared. I just wanted to get things over with and move on to the next step. The first blow. The first face-slapping in my revenge plan. I’ve been humiliated by many. Roland, Anastasia, Rose, my step-mother, Roland’s entire family. They belittled me and took away everything I held dearly, so it was time to take everything precious from them. It wasn’t long until the exchange of rings and vows came to an end and Noah’s driver drove him back to his company and he took me to Nina’s apartment in the outskirt of Boston. On our way back from the city

SASHA’S POVHe refused to rise up on his feet, not until I forgave him.Forgave him for what exactly? As far as my memories could get me, I haven’t seen him before, so we were basically strangers.I’ve never been this confused and startled my whole life and before I could regain my voice, eyes were on us.Staff, janitors, receptionist and security. They all stared at me curiously and the man kneeling in front of me, in pity. They had no reason to sympathize with him when he did absolutely nothing wrong.“Why are you kneeling? Please stand up, you’re creating a scene.” I lowered my back and whispered into his ear.I was also confused myself, so those were the best words I could put out.“I can’t stand up if you don’t forgive me.” Shaking his head, he lowered his head and his hands reached out to grab my ankles, startling me even more.At that point, I could pass out and go into a state of shock, because it was too much to bear.Startled at his cold hands making contact with my ankles, I
