Delilah's pov

“Calix,” I protested, my voice a little loud. “Your meeting. Everyone is waiting. You need to go back.” I gestured towards the door, my cheeks heating up at the thought of the kiss we had just shared.

His smirk deepened, and he didn’t even glance towards the door. His possessive gaze remained firmly on me. “They can wait,” he said, his voice sending shivers down my spine. “They’ll wait for as long as I need them to. Or rather, for as long as we need them to.” He leaned closer, the scent of his cologne clouding my senses. His hand reached out, his thumb gently caressing my jawline. “I’d rather be here,” he continued, his voice dropping to a near whisper, his gaze unwavering, pinning me in place. “With you.”

My heart raced at that statement, and I could feel my cheeks heat up again.

“Did I tell you how much I like this dress on you? It fits just as perfectly as I imagined it.” He murmured, brushing a strand of hair from my face. “It was made for you. You look… breathtakin

Delilah’s povThe elevator ride down the Calix Empire building felt like an eternity. Every second reminded me of the feeling of his hands on me, his mouth on mine. I shook my head. This wasn’t me. This wasn’t the careful, sensible Delilah who lived by reasoning. This was… reckless. When I finally stepped into the bustling lobby, I walked outside where I found Calix’s driver and asked him to take me home. The ride home was a blur. My mind kept replaying the scene in Calix’s office, every touch, every kiss, every gasped breath, every thrust, until my cheeks darkened.I was married to him by contract, a business arrangement. He was Julian’s uncle. He was twice my age. And he had a daughter who, just yesterday morning, had called me a gold-digger and thrown soup on me. The thought of Naomi immediately brought a wave of guilt. How could I have been so lost in… that… when his daughter was probably still hurting, still upset? The driver pulled up to the penthouse and waited for me to get do

  • Divorced My Husband And Found Love   ELEVEN

Delilah’s POVMy palm still stung from the impact, but the sight of Julian’s stunned face, the bright red mark coloring on his cheek, was satisfying. He deserved it. Every hateful word, his betrayal, had earned him that slap. Then, the sudden silence of the lobby registered. My head snapped up. All eyes were on us. The board members and some of Calix’s employees stood frozen, drawn by the unexpected noise. And then I saw him—Calix. He was walking towards us. I could tell he was angry. His face was filled with fury, and his eyes were blazing with an intensity that made my stomach churn.Julian, recovering from his initial shock, immediately turned his anger on me, his voice rising. It was clear that he wanted to be heard by everyone. "You crazy bitch! How dare you lay a hand on me? Do you know who I am? You pathetic little gold-digger! You think just because you’ve somehow wormed your way in here, you can assault people? You’re a tramp, Delilah, a low-class tramp who’s probably trying

Delilah’s POVI felt my cheeks burn, an overwhelming blush that I desperately tried to suppress. My stomach did a strange little flutter in reaction to his glaring appreciation.Stop it, Delilah, I silently scolded myself. This is not happening. This is a business deal—a marriage of convenience—nothing more.I swallowed. He kept staring while I struggled to pretend I was not melting under his gaze. But he was doing it again… like he wanted to touch but knew he can’t.“Let’s go,” he says after a while, voice cold. “We’ll be late.”The car ride was silent. Neither of us spoke. The air inside the car was thick with sexual tension. I sat stiffly, staring out the window at the bustling New York streets, very aware of Calix’s presence beside me. His arm occasionally brushed against mine as the car made a turn, sending a jolt through me each time. I could feel the warmth radiating from him and his cologne's subtle scent. My mind kept drifting back to the dream, to the feel of his lips and th

Delilah’s POVCalix groaned like he was in excruciating pain. A low, guttural sound made my breath catch in my throat. His eyes were fixed on mine, and for a heart-stopping moment, the air thickened. His jaw clenched, and his hands, which had been so gentle on my leg, curled into fists at his sides. He looked like he was struggling to keep his distance from me.Suddenly, he stepped back and turned. He didn't say a word or even look back at me. He walked out of the bathroom, slamming the door shut. His footsteps were hurried, like he couldn’t get away from me fast enough. The silence was deafening, accompanied by the frantic pounding of my heart.I sat on the cold marble counter, my legs dangling, the burn on my thigh forgotten because of the much more potent heat spreading through my entire body. What was happening? The tension, the noticeable pull… it was overwhelming and a little terrifying. Okay, maybe more than a little.I slid off the counter, my legs feeling a little wobbly. I l

  • Divorced My Husband And Found Love   EIGHT

Delilah’s POVThe heat on my thigh intensified, and my skin was already turning red. I could feel the soup seeping through the fabric of my dress. This was no accident; this was a deliberate act.Calix’s jaw tightened. "Naomi, apologize to Delilah." His voice was dangerously calm, but you could tell he was furious. She hesitated, flicking her gaze to me and then back to her father. Her lips pressed into a thin line, and she looked away in defiance."It's… it's fine," I stammered, wincing as another wave of pain washed over my skin. "It's just soup. I should… I should go clean up." The embarrassment was too much. Here I was, the new wife, dripping with soup, and the child of the house was being openly hostile.Without waiting for a reply, I pushed back my chair and practically ran from the dining room. My thigh stung, but the sting of humiliation was far worse. I hurried up the stairs. I knew Calix was angry. I could feel it radiating from him.As I reached the top of the stairs, I hea
