Chapter 10

Jolene's POV….

"Do you swear to love the pack and keep it safe as long as you are the alpha…" My father asked me with pride in his tone and I immediately replied, "I do "

It was finally my coronation, the day I have been waiting for years. Today, I am going to be crowned as the Lycan king.

I couldn't just express my joy, I felt so much happiness as my dream finally came to pass.

I wasn't longer that weak Jolene everyone knows, I was now stronger and was now a pure Lycan.

I spent these past four years on serious training, I devoted myself to self training even after the training with Harrison ends for the day.

I would wake up very early in the morning and begin self training before Harrison joins me. I would keep training myself till it was late at night, by then, I would have gotten so drained out and tired.

I am glad my efforts didn't turn out to be in vain, I now possess all the Lycan abilities and was even stronger than Harrison.

"Did you swear to the Moon Goddess that you shall treat your pack right and with justice, and do you accept to be the Lycan king of our kingdom?" My father asked again and with a proud smile, I answered him.

"Yes I do," 

"The new Alpha of  Jolene Bardot!" My father announced and then crowned me proudly. The whole pack members rented the hall with screams and shouts, I couldn't help but feel elated.

"Congratulations baby girl, I am so happy for you dear." My mother congratulated me with a warm hug and I couldn't help but smile.

"Thanks mum and I am happy a sweet lady like you get to be my mother," 

"My baby girl," she muttered with an affectionate look while caressing my cheeks.

"Congratulations daughter, I am so proud of you." My father hugged me too,

"Thanks father, I promise to rule and manage the Lycan kingdom well." I said and he smiled.

"I trust you dear," 

"Let the feast begin!" I screamed and everyone jubilated.

I looked over to Harrison who was standing beside me and he sent me a warm smile.

"Congratulations on being our new Alpha," he said while pouring me a drink.

He was Beta, I chose him as my Beta because he is the perfect one for that position.

"Thank you," I said and then clinked our glasses of wine before taking a sip.

The celebration was massive and I could see the smiles on everyone's faces, I guess they were overwhelmed with happiness.

When I first stepped my foot into the Lycan kingdom and was told about my future leadership, I was scared I might get rejected, scorned or mocked.

But it happened to be the opposite, they all accepted me and celebrated with me. No joy could be compared to what I was feeling right now, this is just so good to be true.

I can only imagine the shocked look on Maverick's face once I reveal my new self to him. He will be so shocked that the lady he rejected is now the Lycan king, I am pretty sure he would begin to regret his actions.

But I still owe him a thank you, his rejection and mean words brought me to where I was today. If he had not rejected me, I would still remain the weak Jolene that everyone knows.

The ceremony lasted for hours and I was getting tired. I left unnoticed to my favorite spot so I could get fresh air.

As soon as I got there, the cool air blew through me and I closed my eyes feeling refreshed.

" It's it rude for our king to leave the ceremony while it is still ongoing?" 

I recognized that voice to be Harrison's and I faced him immediately.

"I got tired and decided to come here to feel the cool air, I would return in no time." 

He moved closer and stood beside me.

"But still, you shouldn't leave the ceremony till it's over, it is your ceremony and not anyone's. You should get back," Harrison said and I sighed.

"Anyways, I didn't get to appreciate you for everything you have done for me, thanks for the sacrifices and the intense training. That's was what got me here, thanks so much Harrison," I appreciated him and he smiled widely.

All these past four years, nothing changed about him, he still looked very handsome.

"Can I ask for something in return to my years of faithful service to you?" He requested and I chuckled.

"Yes you can but don't ask for my position," I warned and he laughed loudly.

"I am not that greedy, it's just a simple and little request." He said and I rolled my eyes at him.

"Whatever! What's the request?" I asked and he suddenly leaned closer.

I looked at him weirdly wondering what he was about to do.

"I hope you don't punch me for doing this but this is what I want," 

In a twinkle of an eye, I felt his lips on mine and my eyes widened immediately.

He kissed me shortly and then smiled, I was literally shocked and didn't know how to react.

He just fucking stole my first kiss,

"Thank you, let's get back to the ceremony." He said and paved the way for me to pass.

I got myself together and left back to the ceremony, the kiss scene wouldn't stop replaying in my head.

Why did he do that? Wasn't I supposed to slap and yell at him for kissing his Alpha? Why was I calm or was it because it was my first? 

I felt restless all of a sudden but covered up with a smile.

Suddenly, the big iron doors of the hall flew open and a lady walked in.

She was dressed to kill and was looking extremely gorgeous, she was looking expensive also.

"What the hell is going on here!!" The lady yelled, raising her head a little bit and I got a clear picture of her face.

My eyes widened when I saw her face,
