Chapter 4 Spend the Night With Me!

I then locked onto a man standing near me. He was dressed in an all-black suit and had a stern expression. He was seated alone, sipping on his drink.

I recognized the man. He was Liam's direct superior—Jethro Willow. I had once attended a company party with Liam. Jethro had spoken at that event, so I had a vague impression of him. What puzzled me was why a man like him would be here. Did elite businessmen from the upper classes enjoy nightlife too?

Suddenly, a daring thought popped into my head. Since Liam had wronged me, why should I play nice?

I grabbed my drink, got to my feet, and started stumbling in Jethro’s direction. As I reached him, I tripped and tumbled right into his embrace.

Jethro was a young man about in his thirties. The top button of his white shirt was undone. The sleeves were pushed up to his elbows, showing off sun-kissed skin. His nose was well-defined and his lips were alluring. His eyes had an intense, albeit icy, quality to them.

He was a handsome but indifferent man.

Jethro shot me an icy glare, clearly repulsed. He shoved me away without a second thought.

"Spend the night with me," I slurred, my vision hazy but fixed on his face.

"What?" Jethro looked surprised, clearly not expecting me to be this blunt.

"I said, spend the night with me. Did you not hear me?" I leaned in, my arms looping around his neck as I whispered just shy of his lips.

The alcohol bolstered my courage. Normally, I wouldn’t have dared to say such things, but after such a terrible day, what did I have to lose?

"Are all women this bold nowadays? Are you that desperate to get laid?" Jethro eyed me scornfully. Right then, he probably pegged me as just another sleazy woman who frequented bars.

"What? Are you scared? Or maybe you can’t rise to the challenge," I taunted, my eyes dancing with mischief. No man could tolerate being called out as impotent, especially not in that way. I figured Jethro was no different.

True to form, my words seemed to strike a nerve. His gaze frosted over, colder than before. “You better pray you don't regret this."

In a heartbeat, he whisked me out of the bar and into a posh hotel just around the corner. Due to excessive drinking, my footsteps were unsteady, and I leaned in close to Jethro.

The moment the door clicked shut behind us, Jethro tilted my chin upwards, locking eyes with me. And then, his lips met mine. His kiss was fierce, bordering on savage, and I couldn’t help losing myself in it.
