Chapter 19

Lottie’s POV

It’s Parker. Parker is here. I am so happy. Happy that he is safe, but even more so, that he is alive. I thought he was dead, or at least that is what Richard led me to believe. But it is short-lived. “Get inside before they see you,” mom shouts at him. I kneeled to check on Diesel. At least Parker is awake and safe.

Parker and the stranger run inside. I see Maddox following them. But then he appeared at my side. I guess he figured I might need some help with Diesel.

I shook Diesel, trying to wake him, but he was out cold. Mom grabs me and lets out a sob. “I knew, I knew I had to stay here. I knew you would know where to find me. When Parker told us what happened to Hudson, I couldn’t do anything. Then Caren showed up. She wanted to go look for you, but we didn’t know where you would be. So, we stayed here, hoping you would come home. My baby, my baby has come home.”
