Chapter 41: The Ta-Seti People and the Guardian

Elise’s group had been walking day and night. They just rested to get something to eat. After a few moments of rest, they walked again until they had reached the thirteenth district of Ta Shemau, Atef-Khent.

They entered Asyut City. It was located on the River Nile’s western bank. It was in between the two mountain ranges with a height of about 600 meters that contributed continental climate. It was summer; thus, the heat of the sun reached up to 42 degrees Celsius. Even with the cloth over their heads as they walked, the sun seemed to be literally just above their heads.

They passed through the city, and the outskirts were desert sands as far as the eyes could see.

It was already getting dark. The Medjay saw a group of Ta-Seti people, judging by their looks. They carried with them their luggage in big cloths. Children and women alike carried something on their backs or in their hands.
