"You shouldn't be here," he said nonchalantly.
"And you," she said as she scowled at him ,"shouldn't be standing here in the first place."
A man and woman stood in a very grand hall.
The had once seen it's splendor back in its days. Now it's dilapidated, dusty and dull.
Two large double doors, from where he had just entered stood behind him as he came face to face with his sister. She glared at him with hatred and contempt.
"You don't even qualify to be standing in front of me," Daemon said. He was becoming angrier by the second.
"Qualify?" She scoffed with her arms folded across her chest. "Ask that question yourself when you are just a useless worthless piece of dirt!"
Daemon became angry. Very angry. His face gave him away. He never liked anyone calling him useless or worthless. It brought painful memories. Memories he didn't want to remember.
The woman, his sister Dapheney noticed that she had managed to annoyed her brother.
"Because I'm now the demon emperor" he said arrogantly. "And you're just a commoner."
"Oh, a commoner, really?" She wanted to laugh and choke on those words.
"Then how it is that you think you're fit to sit on this throne!" Dapheney spread her arms indicating to the grandeur behind her. It was more or a statement than a question. Her hazel eyes flashed with anger.
"I was, after all, elected by the people to rightfully sit on that throne, " he made sure to emphasize every word to her, to get it into her mad brain.
Daemon looked around. The beautifully carved pillars of dragons and demonic beasts that was a mixture of different animals had cracks, dirt and even blood stains on them. The jewels on the stone pillars that were once the eyes of these magnificent beasts faded and looked worn out. The shine of these stones were no more. The two looked at the ceiling covered with webs and large amount of dust.
The grand steps leading to a throne room had rubbish scattered around, broken swords and glasses laid strewn about. The young woman counted the steps. Roughly, it was about fifty steps leading up to the throne. The throne was made of pure gold and of a rare stone. But the throne has lost its shine after so many years of neglect and isolation.
The palace had been abandoned for years since the last Demon Emperor died. No one knows what happened that year but many claimed that there was a fierce and violent battle that shook the entire country, thus many villages and towns were now living poverty.
"Emperor? I think you are a worthless one treated like trash! Look at the place around you. You think the people love you?" She gestured to the surroundings. She laughed mockingly at him.
"Even so, I'll make those people all submit to me! And only me!"
"You can go on dreaming! The people out there treated you like dirt. The palace they gave you is full of dirt and debris and blood. " She was definitely having the time of her life, making fun of his situation. She eyed a pillar with obvious blood stains on it. Oh, how Daemon wished he could just slap his sister to shut up her foul mouth.
He ignored her, he knew she could go on day day badmouthing him. Instead he reeled around her, walked up the steps, breathing in the fresh air that poured in from the two high windows on the right and left side of the wall. He inhaled the air, thinking about his duties and responsibilities, then he exhaled slowly, with a strange light in his eyes.
"Oh, I'll kill them," his eyes gleamed darkly. ", I'll make those who despite me, look down on me, pay for it with their lives,"
"You're mad!" She screamed at him, looking at him with disbelief. She never thought he had changed so much since the last fourteen years. This was not the brother whom she grew up with. This was not the brother who protected and loved her. This was a madman!
"Have you not forgotten what you vowed to do!? Have power and wealth blinded those eyes of yours!?" She wanted to know the answer to what she had suspected.
"Yes," he said, much to her own shock. ", That's what I'm going to do. Power, I want! Wealth, I want! Revenge, I too want!"
Dapheney got the answer she seeked for.
She stared at the brother she Once known, with disbeliefment and disgust.
But he didn't seemed to care the slightest bit.
He now needed to build an army, a demon army and they need ministers to work and assist him, the Demon Emperor.
Well, unfortunately for him, he didn't have any subordinates. Not even a demon lord working under him. I have to start from scratch. What the hell! Damon cursed silently.
"I have to recruit these people, but how?" Damon wondered.
"I'm gonna raise an army," Dapheney said flatly. "This is my revenge too!"
"What? You're gonna raise an army?" Damon didn't believe her. She had never once in her life train soldiers and commanded men to fight. Not especially in this country where men were regarded as superiors and women were all inferior to men.
"So even you think I'm inferior to men? Hah!" She scoffed. Her eyes burned with anger and hate.
"I've never heard of a mere woman like you, leading an army or accomplishing anything great! Only twenty percent women had succeed. But their backgrounds aren't ordinary," Daemon said. Arguing with his sister is making him more and more angry. Even he doubted himself. Why was he wasting his time arguing with a stupid woman like her? It's best if she go do something else, rather than try to take revenge too.
But Dapheney was not one to retreat or back out.
"One day, I'll prove to you. I'll be better and greater than you!" Upon saying those harsh and threatening words, Dapheney strided out of the palace with full confidence. Oh, she'll make them pay. She'll make her brother understand. She'll make him regret. Regret it all!
As Dapheney confidently strode out of the palace, her words echoed ominously, promising a future filled with conflict, ambition, and a relentless pursuit of greatness. The stage was set for a thrilling tale of power, betrayal, and the battle for supremacy.
Daemon had been bullied since he took the throne. He knew kindness and gentleness won't work, especially when dealing with those corrupted ministers and officials. Oh, but he had an idea. The most devious and wicked idea. And it all stem from a certain woman, a woman who intruded into his palace. Daemon's mind flashed back to five years ago when he met her. FIVE YEARS AGOA woman sat seductively on the grand steps of Daemon's palace. The steps lead from the outside of the palace until to the throne of the demon emperor. She sat there calmly, admiring her dark coloured nails as if they were made of gold - something precious that deserves to be admired. Her cleavage was shown clearly as she wore only a leather bra with its traps coiling around her stomach twice. Her long legs were peaking out from her slit skirt. Her skin was smooth and silky. A dark red cape covered her back as her long prenaturally white hair draped over her shoulders. Daemon wasn't feeling good. He had many repor
She opened the double doors and left, her words still lingering in the air. Her last words before she left sounded like a warning. There was something about her words that he couldn't quite grasp, some hidden meaning behind it. Finally, Daemon let out a breath, a breath of relief and something. He couldn't quite make out of it. He didn't bother to see if she had left. If she can enter without anyone noticing, she can do the same while leaving. Instead, he quickly rushed up the grand steps to his office, taking two steps at a time. He burst through the doors of his office and threw himself down into his stone chair padded with luxurious cushion of red, violet and gold. He started looking through the reports sent by the commoners. Frustrated at his result of having no solution to their problems, he swipe them all down angrily. The reports clattered as they hid the stone cold floor. Then he buried his head in his hands, thinking and thinking. He thought about the words she said. The we
Victoria Bennett ran and ran. The branches and leaves scratched her bare arms. The leaves rustled under the feet. She heard something coming up from behind. It started to get closer and closer! She was out of breath but she knew she cannot stop. Without sparing a second thought, she ran through the woods. The woods were known for snakes and demonic monsters. She had no choice. It's die now or later. Victoria ran up to a big tree and lean against it catching her breath. She looked around and the creature chasing her was gone. Left and right, she scanned the grassy ground below her, searching for signs of that creature, but she spotted nothing. She let out a sigh of relief. After a while, she slowly came down from the tree. She felt a dark presence behind her. Her heart started to beat quickly. Her worst nightmare have come true! She quickly leaped forward before two large strong hands with black claws could grab her. The creature roared! A very loud monstrous roar. It charged at her,
Daemon was sitting peacefully on his throne when he received a tip off from the scouts about a spy or traitor trying to sabotage the peace in his territory. The scouts reported that the traitor was a spy from the human clan pretending to be a demon. They tracked that traitor to a village on the outskirts of The Capital. Having a deep hatred against humans, Daemon decided to find this traitor and interrogate him or her. And by interrogate, you know it's not going to be anything good. Not especially when you get on the nerves of the Demon Emperor. Daemon used the excuse of helping the poor villagers to improve their lives. He had to do so to avoid suspicions from the other demon lords within the Capital. Those lords were nothing but busybody and with ulterior motives. Plus, Daemon had another idea. He needs to help the villagers out of the drought. Although ruthless and wicked, he still needs to earn himself a good reputation if he wants the support of the people. On the outskirts of T
Mighell came running over shouting, "my lord! My lord! There's a bunch of reports from the commoners on your desk." Daemon nodded and headed to his office. "Who's the human girl?" Mighell had saw Daemon carried a human girl into HIS own sleeping chambers. He was curious as he had never seen his master personally carry a human. Daemon had a deep grudge against all humans. He would kill any human he sees but this one seems different. Daemon had took 'extra special' care not to kill her right away. Maybe it was something else his lord doesn't want to reveal yet. A new nasty plan or devious plot could be the answer. Mighell had noted to himself, that his lord (Daemon) had changed a lot since that day. Yes, that day five years ago after he was humiliated and played the fool by the other lords. Mighell almost didn't recognize his lord until Daemon address him by his full name - the name that only he knew. So much had passed since then and Mighell felt his best friend had fallen apart from
"You're quite bold and arrogant," Daemon said as he caressed her cheek in a threatening manner. Victoria angrily swiped his hand away, looking disgustingly at him. "To deal with you, I can be anything," she said confidently. Daemon chuckled. No one has ever said such defying words to him. This was going to be interesting. Victoria didn't liked how he's playing the fool with her. "Why did you catch me? I believed I have done no wrong against you," Victoria demanded. "Are you sure you haven't?" Daemon hinted at something. Something he thinks was done by her. "Done what?" "A spy. For the human race. For Valencia Luciano," Daemon said. This time he wasn't joking or teasing her. He was dead serious."A spy? For the human race?" Victoria couldn't believe what she was hearing. Heck, she didn't even know who Valencia Luciano is and yet she was kidnapped and accused for such things. "I don't even know who the hell Valencia Luciano is, how could I be a spy? Or even worked for the human ra
"Valencia Luciano?" The name sounded familiar but Felix couldn't quite remember where he'd heard it. It was a girl's name but yet it have such a dangerous aura to it. "Who's that?" Daemon turned around to look the young blonde in the eyes. "You've been in your position for such long time and you're telling me you don't know who's Valencia Luciano?" He couldn't believe his ears. Luciano was no child's play. She was ruthless, wicked and full of scheming tricks. Yeah, did I say it was a 'she'? That's right. Luciano was a woman. A woman of the human race to be exact and she's not like any ordinary human beings. "I swear I have never heard of such name. He sounds quite tough and muscular. Must be a real pain in the ass for you to remember his name," Felix said. His blue eyes blinked innocently. "Sure, a pain in the ass. But not as much as you," Daemon said hinting to Felix for being one. "Oh," was all Felix's reply to that. "And Luciano is a 'she'," he corrected him. "Not a he," "W
He then bit his tongue, committing suicide and died. His arms and legs fall limp and his head droop to his chest. She sighed having not one bit of remorse or pity in her. "He chooses to kill himself rather than reveal anything. " "My lady, what should we do now," a guard in black clad clothing asked. "Throw him out to feed the dogs!" She ordered. Her men gulped in fear. Dead or alive as long you're a Demon, she won't show you any mercy. Valencia tapped her chin thoughtful. This man, the Demon emperor has already pique her interest. He'll be her next target, the top of her list. "How's our little spy doing?" She turned to face the guard. "My lady, the spy reported that all is well. No one has found out about our plan," A vicious sly smile spread across her plush red lips. Her plan was working and it was only in a matter of time she'll get what she wants. Luciano pushed back her golden locks that covered her left eye. Ohhhh, how sweet was revenge! -----------She pushed open th
