CHAPTER FIVE: Far Worse Plans.

“Dostatochno! You will come with us quietly or get a bullet in your head like your father.” Dimitri interrupts my loud curses and wails.

I look at him angrily but keep silent. I was strong-willed but not enough to die for it.

“This isn't necessary, I won't fight you.” I say angrily to one of the men who cuffed my wrist and pulled me along with him.

The man gave me a look that clearly said he knew better.

I huff in annoyance as the man's stride becomes longer than mine. When I look at his face, I see him smirking. The fucker!. He was doing this on purpose!.

“You can slow down. You don't have to prove to anyone how tough you are by belittling me.” I say angrily.

The man clenches his jaw in silence but slows down a little.

When we step outside my father's house, my legs involuntarily slow to a stop. The man understanding my need for my final goodbye, let's go of my hand and they all turn their backs on me.

I turn towards my house, knowing deep in my bones that this was going to b e the last time I stepped foot in here. I don't know what awaited me where I was going but I knew it was a fate far worse than death.

It wasn't that I was so accepting of it, I was just bidding my time. Waiting for the right time to strike.

I look at our gorgeous front porch and remember all the times I and Alina escaped from our rooms just to come down here and play. We had so many memories together in this place, and that was the only reason tears gathered in my eyes.

Alina. It's been so long since I thought of her even though it was just a few days since we buried her. I guess a part of me always knew I had lost her the moment my dad gave her away as repayment for a debt.

I swear in my heart that I would find out who killed her, and I will take my time exacting revenge on every single limb in the person's body.

“That's enough, we have to leave.” A cold hard voice whispers beside me.

When I turn, It's with fear in my eyes which are intensified when I find it's Dimitri who spoke to me and was currently leaning close to me.

Dimitri turns his back on me and walks away from me, which I'm more than grateful for.

One of the men takes me by the hand and leads me towards the last car in the convoy of cars. It was an SUV just like the rest of them but when I see the three men who are expected to ride with me, I lose whatever decorum I had and show real fear.

“Hell no! I'm not riding with you.” I say spitting at the man who had ground my face in his groin region.

“You don't have a choice, printsessa.” The man says with a smirk at my reaction.

I strike at him with my cuffed hands, the cuffs hitting him square in the nose.

“b`lyad'! Get her under control!” The man who is currently bleeding from his nose curses at the other man.

“If you come close to me, I will make sure you never father a child.” I say angrily to him.

He looks at me with uncomfortable fear. I guess my bared teeth and always ready to strike hands posed as an object of fear, but right now I was only acting on pure instinct.

When he gets close to me, I keep to my word and knee him so hard in the groin we both fall to the ground together.

He groans loudly, cupping his balls or whatever it is I hit.

I'm jerked upright so harshly I almost see stars but before he could force me in the car, I headbutt him with the back of my head, the satisfying crunch of his breaking nose filling me with some kind of inner peace. I smirk triumphantly.

My smile is cleaned off my face when I feel the unmistaken press of the cold barrel of a gun against my skull.

I freeze, not knowing what to do or say.

“I warned you didn't I?” The cold voice which belonged to Dimitri says from behind me.

“You didn't expect me to go along willingly with your men to be raped, did you? If you want to kill me, you better go ahead and do it now, because there is no way I will ever agree to your unsavoury plans.” I say through gritted teeth.

“Very well. On your knees.” Dimitri says in a cold detached tone.

With my heart in my mouth I lower myself to the ground, squeezing my eyes tight and blocking out the stares of all the men who were looking at me with pity in their gazes.

Dimitri cocks his gun and his men shift away from us, some turning their backs on us and others looking at me like I got what I deserved as the daughter of a cheating mongrel.

“Brat!” Brother! A man calls out from beside him.

I turn to the man, and I find out it was the man who had spoken nicely to me. He was Dimitri's brother? I heard that Dimitri had a brother, Ivanov who was twice as ruthless as him. Could that brother be this soft spoken giant?

Dimitri and his brother have a staring contest for a few minutes before Dimitri nods his head and withdraws his gun.

I know I'm supposed to be grateful I get to live but I almost wanted to die. What awaited me outside the walls of my father's house?

“She rides with me.” Dimitri says in a cool tone, pulling me up by the lace collar of my nightwear.

I get up awkwardly but I grit my teeth to avoid complaining.

Dimitri pulls me along with him and pushes me unceremoniously into the back seat of his SUV car.

He settles in beside me and pulls a bottle of what I recognise as scotch and drinks directly from it.

I'm quiet as he takes out a medical kit from under the seats and wraps the injuries on his knuckles as though he had punched a wall or something hard continously. I knew that those injuries came from torturing my father.

I lean back in the seat and barely notice when the car pulls out of my house.

“What would you have said to me?” Dimitri says in a cold tone, breaking the thick silence in the car.

“Huh?” I ask dumbly, jolting upright.

Dimitri turns his eyes on me, staring at me like he could see the deepest parts of my soul. “In there, you said you wanted to speak Pakhan. What did you want to say to me?”

I clear my throat and avert my eyes. I knew this was my only chance to convince him to let me go so I had to give it my all.

“My father was your father's Consigliere, and his father before him. There is history and connection between our both families. Even though due to I and my sisters birth, the long standing tradition was broken, there is still a relationship with both families. And the Bratva protects it’s own. Don't you think you will be turning back on your words if you give me to your men to be used like a cheap common whore?” I ask with my heart in my throat.

“Of course we take care of our own.” Dimitri says like he thought me stupid for thinking otherwise.

I heave a huge sigh of relief at his statement but my breath catches in my throat at his next statement.

“But the rules don't apply to cheating scumbags who sell information to the politsiya.” Dimitri says staring deeply and intensely into my eyes.

I know that nothing I say would convince him that my dad was nothing like that, and what's more is my dad was all that and much more.

“So what do you plan to do with me? Throw me away at your men to be used and eventually killed?” I ask, my anger and fear getting the best of me.

“No, Malyshka. What I have in store for you is far worse than what my men would have ever done to you.” Dimitri says with an eery smile on his face.

I look into his eyes and by God I believe him. I believe him so much that I feel the fear steal my consciousness away.
