Chapter 9:

I woke up to a sound of my phone as it loudly rung. I gently opened my eyes and started looking for my bag, but it is on the table.

“Wait, what? Where am I?” I unconsciously questioned myself which got my attention to roam my eyes around before taking the call. The room is empty and serene. It’s quite clean then I saw a sign over the door and found out that I am inside the school clinic right now. I will be forever grateful to that guy for not just saving my life but eventually bringing me back to life. I think it’s now safe to say that he is my cold angel.

I moved myself closer to reach for my phone inside my bag and answered the phone.

“Yes mom?” I muttered trying to hide my husky voice. It was almost a week that I haven’t received any call from any of them so I’m a bit nervous for this one. I just hope that our dean hasn’t yet tell them about what happened to me.

“Are you alright?” Mom asked from the other line.

“You’re sick, am I wrong Maureen?” Mom really knows everything about
