Something that has become my new nightly routine. After a while of walking around, I decide to try my luck and go to Elena’s room, hoping she won’t turn me away so I can spend the night and enjoy a few hours of sound sleep. But when I get there, she’s nowhere to be found.Even her maid can’t keep accounts of movements, something that doesn’t sit well with me.“Where did you say she went?” I ask the only one I see in the room.“She… she went for a walk, your highness,” she stammers, fingers shaking.“Hmmm.” I walk out of the room, registering it is more than just a walk she went for.I turn on the corner and that is when I feel it— a soft cool body colliding against me.We both pause and immediately I notice it is her.“Where the hell are you coming from?” I ask, my voice low.She tries to retreat, but I quickly catch her elbow.I can literally hear her heart pumping hard.“Elena, where the hell are
Damien’s POV“Why are you so quiet? It’s very unusual of you.” I finally ask, unable to bear Vale’s silence anymore.“Well that’s because I’m thinking,” he replies, jaw tightening.“Hmm, thinking? And what is so serious that has you so deep in thoughts and quiet?” I ask, although deep down, I already have an idea of what it can be about. He smirks. “Well you really want to know?”“Of course,” I reply, nodding.”“Fine, I’ll say it,” he runs a hand through his hair.“Man, I love you but I don’t know what you think you’re doing with that girl.”There it is. The very thing I thought it would be. My shoulders tense, and I look away.It is basically my time to be quiet.“Oh, now you aren’t saying anything?”My jaw lock, “Well I don’t know what she wants me to say because we aren’t—.”“Oh, man, don’t,” he cut in.“Don’t treat me like I’m a child or a fool.”I look away, staring at the trees for no reason.“Vale, I don’t know what she wants me to say.”“Well I want you to say you end it, okay
Elena’s POV“What the hell is that?” I ask, watching as he stands up.He just chose with his hand for me to hold on as he works closer to the door.My heart beats faster with each passing second because I can’t help but think we’ve been caught by the devil himself.“Lukas, do you think it’s him?” I barely whisper. He pauses, turning into me immediately. He stares at me with alert eyes, but says nothing before turning to the door. His hand rests on the knob then it takes a moment as if counting before pulling it open.“Hey man,” a strange voice calls out and I hear him exhale. Clearly, he knows the person so I quickly get up to join him.“Vale, what the hell, man? You scared me. I thought it was my brother or something.”I join them at the door just then, watching as the man waves Damien off.“Oh, nothing like that,” the man says, then pauses, running his eyes over me.He is obviously surprised to see me there.“Vale, how did you manage to find me? And why did you leave the site? You
Elena’s POVI start learning the ways of the woods the same way I’m learning Damien’s.We continue to meet in the little cabin, sharing information we hope we can use to free the innocent omegas and this night is no different. With the help of Bianca, I quickly put on my cloak, unexplainably eager to get to my destination.“Your highness, please be careful. I hear the Alpha may work late into the night today.”“Yes, Bianca, I promise, I’ll be very careful. Besides, they’ve been saying the same thing for the past few nights and nothing has happened.”“Yes, I know but still, it is better to be on the safe side,” she says, straightening my dress one more time.I nod, before making my way out of my room. When I get to the cabin, Damien is already there, settled on a small wooden chair in the middle of the cabin. “You’re kind of late,” he says the moment he sees me but it’s not said with any hint of hostility, just with a light smirk that showed he was trying to pull my legs.“I had to be
Elena’s POVSlowly, I turn my head to see whoever is behind me. I know it’s nothing because it’s not his voice, but whoever it is, it’s you can’t be any good.As soon as my eyes fall on the man behind me, he freezes in place, then blinks, his skin going visibly pale. “Your…your highness,”He says, dropping to his knees immediately. It’s one of the night guards. Young and new.Barely old enough to know that I may be in the wrong and he may have the right to report to me.I quickly take advantage of the situation to solidify my stance.“How dare you? How dare you touch the Luna? Don’t you know you can get in trouble for this? This is how I’m going to be getting harassed just because I took a small morning walk?”“I’m… I'm so sorry. I’m truly so sorry, your highness, I thought, I though…” he clears his throat, clearly embarrassed. “I thought you were someone else. M— my girlfriend tends to sneak around this corridor sometimes, I just wanted to tease her,” he pleads, head to the ground.I
Elena’s POV He reaches for the door, pushing it open with a simple ease. “After you,” he says gently, ushering me in. I hesitate for a moment, drawing a deep breath before stepping inside. As soon as we walk in, warmth greets me instantly as I run my eyes over the place, noticing the size is not much different from the outside. But it is good enough as we don’t need something too big so we don’t draw unnecessary attention to it. The warmth isn’t the stifling kind that you'll expect from a small place. Just gentle and welcoming, making me realize how cold outside actually was Candlelight flickers along the walls, casting dancing shadows across the wood. Everything appears new so you could tell he indeed just built it. “So you really did this yourself?” I ask gently. He nods. “Yes, yes I did.” The way he says it, you can tell he isn’t necessarily being boastful about it but still, he carries that hint of pride. Not the bad kind. Just the kind that seems like he’s proud
