Mag-log inIn the Bloodmoon pack, omegas had two choices; breeding or death. Elena Graymoor managed to escape this fate by staying invisible. Until her 18th birthday, when the Montclair Alpha claimed her as his grand prize. Cold, ruthless, untouchable. Lukas Montclair is everything she fears, and the only thing standing between her and certain death. There's no lengths she wouldn't go for freedom, and that includes playing his game. But there's someone else…. Damien Montclair— The runaway prince, the shadow Alpha. And when their paths cross, she feels something she shouldn't have. Lukas doesn't share, especially not with a little brother who should have been dead. Every secret meeting with Damien risks both their lives. And every night tangled in Lukas's bed pulls her deeper into a web she can't escape. And when she finds out that her whole life has been a lie, that she was never an omega and her blood holds the power three packs would kill for, she has to choose; The Alpha who owns her, The shadow who wants her, Or the queen she was always meant to be.

"Do you really think this will work?" Rune asks. I pull up the blanket to her shoulders, tucking her firmly into the bed. Her face is sickly pale. The hot ginger and cinnamon tea is already doing its work, spiking up her temperature.
I find her hands under the blanket, holding them in mine. "This has to work, Rune. Or the rest of my life is ruined."
She nods, giving a loud sniff. I'm not sure if it's because of the chili soup I made her drink in ten minutes or if she's actually sick.
Either way, we will need more of that if I'm going to convince my parents to postpone the wedding till my "sick" sister gets better.
I remember throwing open the door to her room at the first light of dawn, standing at the entrance with the spices concoction I brewed last night and my poorly adapted, half-baked plan for freedom.
Sweet little Rune will do anything for me.
It's probably not the best decision, placing my future in the hands of a thirteen-year-old gamma wolf, but Lukas Montclair, the monster who has chosen me to be his mate, doesn't leave room for many decisions.
The next 48 hours of my life depend on Rune's acting skills while I try to escape... again.
"Will you be alright?" she asks, still peering up at me with her huge brown eyes. I push out the hair from her face, standing up with a nod.
"You might not see me for a while, Ru. If this works, I'll be out of the Bloodmoon by tomorrow."
She nods again. Then I know I'll miss her terribly. I feel the tears prickling at my eyes. She is the only good thing that happened to me nine years ago when I was adopted into the Graymoor family. I don't remember much before that.
I hesitate. "If anyone asks you, you threw up twice, have a terrible stomach ache, and it might be contagious... okay?"
I'm barely done speaking when the door bursts open. Our mother whizzes inside, rushing over to Rune's side immediately. "Rune, darling, how are you feeling?" Her heavy brows are knitted in worry.
Rune coughs, managing to a sitting position with exaggerated difficulty. "I think it's the flu, Mother. I should be alright in a couple of days."
"Oh, darling." Mother leans forward, cupping her cheeks. "This is terrible timing." Then she glances back at me, throwing me a nasty look like it's somehow my fault. I step back by default, lowering my head. As an omega, the less seen I am, the better.
"Alpha Lukas is downstairs to see you." Her tone bristles. She wrinkles her nose at my dark purple draped top and faded leather belt. "Don't keep him waiting."
"Yes, Mother." I withdraw from the room, my palms growing sweaty as I reach the foot of the stairs.
Lukas Montclair stands in the middle of the room, talking with Father. His presence fills the small room like in my nightmares. I've only met him twice, and on both times, he had the same silver sword strapped to his side, the same soulless cold eyes.
Now, he stares at me like I might be an interesting piece of relic. I focus on the ground, his polished leather boots, on anything else.
"Alpha Lukas." I curtsey like I have been taught, stopping a few feet from him.
"A lowly omega like you shouldn't be making demands." His voice cuts through like ice. He walks closer. I don't dare lift my head, but every step feels like a countdown.
"I was promised a submissive bride, Elias. Not a reluctant mate that won't go through with the ceremony."
"Please forgive us, Alpha." Father bows.
Lukas hums like he might consider it. His hand reaches up, gripping my chin, his fingers rough as he forces me to meet his eyes. "What is this I'm hearing this time?" he asks, his voice a low whisper.
"I... I..." I can't get the words out. I feel his alpha energy everywhere around me, the natural instincts to drop to my knees and do whatever he wants. His soulless grey eyes seem to see through my lie even before I open my mouth.
I hold my ground, just barely, managing to keep my feet under me. "I need more time. My sister, Rune... she's terribly ill."
"The mating ceremony is tomorrow," he reminds me coldly.
"Just a few days," I plead, my voice getting desperate. "I won't be able to be myself. Rune and I are close. I... I need to make sure she's okay."
The room falls silent. I can feel the blood rushing in my head louder than everything else. His thumb brushes against my lower lip. They say you feel something, a bond, like an irresistible pull in your heart whenever your mate is near.
All I can feel is the trembling in my hands. It's impossible to feel anything else over the fear. This is the same man who conquered the Riverfang pack. The alpha who waged war against the Lycan, who eradicated half of the rogue wolves within a month.
Lukas leans closer, his hot breath against my skin. Then, very slowly, he says, "No one needs you to be yourself tomorrow, omega."
He lets go, stepping back from me. I let out the breath I didn't know I was holding, before the crushing sense of defeat hit me.
It hadn't worked.
It has never been my choice to make. He was going to drag me through the double doors of the grand pavilion whether I like it or not.
"No! No, please." I rush forward as he turns his back to leave. My fingers grip the edge of his sleeve. I drop to my knees.
"Please, Alpha Lukas." His eyes meet mine, a flicker of irritation in his dark iris, but I continue. "Please, we only need a week. I'll do whatever you want. You'll have me to yourself after..."
He pulls his hand away from mine, stalking off. He is at the doorway when he turns back. "Two days."
The doors slam shut. Father spins to face me the moment he is gone. "You stupid girl." He glares at me, shaking his head.
He crosses the room to the stairway, glancing back. "Why would you sabotage your own mating ceremony? Do you want to live like this forever?"
I bite my lip, glancing away. "I won't get to see Rune or any of you again once Alpha Lukas claims me." I pause for what I hope is a sentimental break. "I don't want my last memory of her to be her lying on a bed, her skin pale and burning."
Father doesn't say anything. He can't say anything to that. He stares at me for a hard second, his frown deepening. "Remember that many would die to be in your shoes. Don't ruin it for all of us."
I lower my gaze with a nod.
"Lady Elarion's dress is ready. Deliver it to her before anything else." He pauses, as though he wants to say more, then turns around, walking up the stairs.
Elena’s POV“So the Alpha is leaving the palace now?” Bianca asks casually. I nod. “Yes. It is high time they go into the field and find the enemy. You cannot continue to fold our hands and hope they will fall into them.”“Watch your highness, do you think it’s safe? I mean, does the alpha have to go? Only the guards can do it.”I smile, briefly looking at her. “And what kind of a leader will that make? Apart from the fact that he belongs on the field, which has always been his thing, he’s also the king and he must lead by example.”“I understand, your Majesty. However, some situations call for a different approach.”I squint my eyes, staring at her. “What do you mean?”She swallows, stepping closer. “ I mean, I’m not trying to control the movements of the alpha. But we both know his life is in danger, unlike the guards. This is why I feel he shouldn’t go with them. The enemy doesn’t really care about them but if he sights the alpha, only the moon goddess knows what he will do.”I sw
Elena’s POV“So what exactly are you saying? You don’t know where the girl came from?”He shakes his head. “And to make it worse, I never gave the guards an instruction like that, but they insisted I did. They swear it was me. My face.”I swallow, shaking my head slightly as I look away.None of it makes any sense.“None of this makes any sense,” I say out loud, unable to keep your thoughts to myself.“Exactly. I knew I should’ve brought it to you immediately. However, I didn’t even know how to start explaining. I mean, she jumped out of the window but no body was found. It was as if she disappeared to think. The guards have been searching around since last night but still, it is all to no avail.”We both pause, staring at each other with a knowing look. I can tell we have the same thing in our minds.“If the guards swear that they saw his face but he never gave the instruction, if the strange woman disappeared out of the blue, leaving no traces behind…”“It means one thing… This has
Elena’s POVAccording to Tess’s advice, I start waking up early to go sunbathing under the early sun of the morning. She promises this will help alleviate some of my stress and I’m really hoping it turns out to be true. As I make my way back, I notice the whispers and the corridors of the palace. I believe it is just normal gossip from the palace workers and decide to ignore it.However, by the time I get back to my room, I can’t help shake off the feeling that something bigger is at play.Thankfully, Bianca is in my room and no matter how early it is, I already know she has some information.“What is going on in the palace? Why does it look like everyone has something to whisper about but I know nothing of it?”She’s looking away from me, but as I ask the question, I notice her body going still.“Bianca, is everything all right?”She turns to me, smiling. “ Of course, your majesty. Why do you ask?”Color is starting to drain from her face. “Well for starters, you look for no reason
Damien’s POV“Get the hell out of my room,” I yell once. She stares back at me, eyes wide. “Your majesty, I’m only trying to help you have a good time.”“Are you deaf? I said get out. Who the hell gave you permission to come into my room.”I pause, yelling out the guard in front of my door. “Do not bother,” she says once, voice changing to something deeper.“What did you just say?” I question, voice slow. She smirked. “You heard me, your majesty. I said, do not waste your time. Your guards are far from your door and they will not hear you. I don’t know why you’re making a big deal out of this, I’m just here to give you a good time.”Pause.Her words continue ringing in my ear.My guards are not in front of my door?Without being told, I know something is wrong. “Who gave you permission to come in?” “Of course they did. It’s not like I can come into your room without meeting them first. But I also gave them instructions of my own. They had to stay far away from the room as the alph
Elena’s POV“What is going on? Mom. Dad. What the hell is going on? What are you saying?” I ask with a broken voice.“Mom, did you really betray my sister?” Rune follows, sounding just broken also.My mother let out a sigh. “We didn’t betray her, darling. We only did what was right.”“By putting he
Elena’s POV“Under the moon today, We have all sworn an allegiance to one another and we promised to protect each other whenever they need arises. Agreed?”My voice thunders. “Yes, Your Highness. Agreed.”My lips curve into his slight smile as I run my eyes over all of them. More than half of them
Vale’s POVWe finally manage to find a place of settlement after several hours of walking through the woods. Taren walks up to me and I already know what he wants to talk about.“How are we going to get worried back to this Grace? How will they locate this space?” He asks.I draw in a deep breath,
Vale’s POVI hold her hand until we settle down on one of the makeshift chairs.“I know you think I have something with the girl—.”“Well, don’t you?” she cut in immediately.I shake my head. “No, I don’t. That day, I got ready and was about to come join you on our agreed spot when she suddenly blo
