It’s shocked her to see that she couldn’t feel anything

Kate squinted, her vision swimming oddly as she saw herself lying lifeless on the floor; everything seemed iridescent. She was viewing the world through thin glasses as she paced around her body.

She didn't know what happened to her, and she couldn’t feel anything, no physical weight; her mouth was so dry that she felt herself pacing around as a ghost as she existed as pure emotion and memory; from her looks, she fled to Grace’s house. She saw Melissa in her room, and tears were dripping from her eyes.

"Mom, I miss you." "I can’t get to see you," she bawled. Kate tried everything she could to touch her; it dawned on her that she was just an existence to herself; she would not hold her if she wanted to; she became sober.

"Am I dead?" she asked herself. It dampened her pain to see her daughter in that mood, but she couldn’t do anything but watch her cry.
