CHAPTER FOUR - MY LUNA

BOARDER OF THE LYCAN CITY

ALPHA LUKKAR

My heart beats faster as my instincts went feral, I still had the blood of the Hunter wolf I had thrashed staining my golden fur. Blood lusted, feral and angry I looked through the eyes of my wolf form. My Alpha aura was so dense it drove the owls into the air and the rodents into whatever hole they crawled out of.

I looked at the Hunter with a deep livid anger it contorted my face and my muscles vibrated from the intense anger and emotion. The Hunter riled up and I impose my aura on him but he shuns it, growling harshly before I jump at him again, teeth bared and I was ready for the kill.

I had jumped the Hunter right before he had the chance to harm her life. Ferociously attacking and fatally injuring the brown wolf before he had the chance at the fight back.

The Hunter was foolish, most wolves would squirm and lower their heads in submission when they came across me, yet, this Hunter had had the guts to throw paws and jaws with me. He was easily no match and whimpered as I almost snapped his neck with my jaws. His teeth caught my thigh and I felt the pain like a sting before proceeded to ravenous on whatever skin he had on. He got away limping through the trees and would have tracked and finished him if not for the euphoric scent I picked up.

I had been lying on the grass just before the boarders between my kingdom when I picked up a high pitched scream and my wolfs offenses kicked in. It was out of my control and in a second I was trampling through the trees, my blood hot and my instincts kicked in to protect the source of the cry. I had finally found My Luna!

Only the call from your mate could force a shift and her scream had instantly made me shift into my wolf.

I was the Alpha, I could call a bevy of beauty maidens at one command yet none had ever moved me the way her scream had.

I had lived most of life respected and powerful. As the ruling Alpha I was still yet to pick a mate and now I carefully sought for the source of the scent that could bring out my wolf and make me take on a Hunter that was bigger in size than I was. And win.

I had never felt this much power surge through my veins and I was sure it was because I was fighting not only for myself but also for the need to protect my Luna. It was said that an Alpha was stronger once he found his mate and would doing anything to protect her from harm.

I gave silent thanks that I had arrived just in time to save her. The pain of one losing a mate was like losing a part of yourself. Most wolves would go wild if they witnessed their mate die especially if they had just been bonding and hadn’t lived a longer life with them, while in some rare cases the wolf that lost the mate may even lose their ability to shift and fall chronically sick and would have a high chance of dying. Just like my father.

I silently tracked her scent, limping as the pain in my thigh was getting graver with every step I took. If this pain was what I needed to endure to find my Luna then I’d happily do it over and over again. I had barely seen here, just a mere glimpse of her face under the moonlight and I could already see that she was turn up and looked like injured. I was angry at myself for not finishing the Hunter and he got away.

If I could find her I could take her back to my home for treatment.  The pain of knowing that your mate was in such a state and not being able to do anything was equal to watching them get devoured in front of you and I began to whimper as I tracked her.

With every sniff of my mates scent I became more and more attached to it and sooner I the painful urge to have her in my arms was draining me just as much as it was empowering me.

I let out a loud howl. If she had shifted she would reply. I waited. None.

‘NO !’ I screamed in my mind before continuing on her tracks.

I can’t loose her. Not like this! I need to find her! I was the ruling Alpha and now I suddenly felt incomplete without my Luna.

I howled again, her scent was getting thicker in the air and it aroused me, suddenly imagining exciting scenes of having her in my bed. Romance and sex throughout the night.

The quicker I found my Luna the better. She was in danger, being Hunted by a wolf that could shun my superior aura and stand in a fight against me. She must have been in most danger of her entire life.

I trudged on until I see the backlights of a rusty truck speeding down the dirt road and I was sure that I had picked up her scent trailing with the van as it drove.

“NO!!!” I screamed again in my mind, this time howling so loud I was sure people would hear in and shudder in their dreams.

I couldn’t lose her! Whoever she was her cry alone was enough to force me to shift, ready to protect her. Wolves could only meet a mate once in their life and they’d always be the perfect match for each other meanwhile mine was getting away from me in a rusty old truck.

For a moment we locked eyes, I could easily make out her petrified face and she stared back at me from the distance.

I may not have known who she was but she no doubt my Luna.I would find her. She could make the Alpha shift with just a cry. My mate.

I raised my snout, howling again and the leaves on the trees vibrated from the loud call.

She belonged by my side! My Luna! She is the Alphas mate!
